Hi friends,

I heard that Buffalo visa office is closing down. Is it true? I chose Buffalo in my application and I got AOR saying my application is being forwarded to the visa office that I chose. My application reached CIC on 13th of July. I see that new generic application form is in effect from 18th of July, if visa office changed for applicants applying from within Canada then would CPP-O be applicable for applcations received on or after 18th of July?

What will happen in my case? Will they themselves change visa office to CPP-O in my application or will it be sent to Buffalo?

Rana, it only makes sense for them to forward it to CPP-O. We can't be penalized for following instructions properly.

My CC got charged today. Didn't receive AOR. My file was received on July 24th. All the best for everybody.

Hi... U submitted your application on July 4 and CIC received it on July10... Do u meam that CIC emailed you back with File number???? I submitted my application on July14 and havent still received any email from CIC. I know that my application was reached at their office and who received it but no email regarding file number et al. How long does it generaly take?? Any advice is appreciated .. Cheers

We posted our application from Toronto on Jul 19. Sydney received our application on Jul 23. CC not charged yet.

hi guys..i have submitted my application on July 20th but i got it returned yesterday asking for another proof for Birth Certificate (i submitted certificate from CGI Toronto, they didnt accept it), Now i am planning to get an affidavit from lawer (requested by them). has anyone of you faced this kind of situation? Can someone give me poniters to a lawer in Toronto who can get me this affidavit? Thanks in advance.

I had faced a similar situation - i managed to get my school leaving certificate which has a DOB and father's name on it and re-submitted the application.....

I did not have my birth certificate. I sent my 12th Grade school leaving certificate from India as a proof and that worked.

If you dont have, you can apply for a real birth certificate from India. I used alliedlegalonline.com to get that. However, it took them about 6 weeks to get my BC from India.

thanks for suggestion .. but my all 10th and 12th grade certificates are in Hindi that's why i am looking for affidavit from lawyer as best option..
Do you know any lawyer who provide this service in Toronto ...
Also, since they returned my application , my PCC also completed 3 months now ...will they count it as expired when i resubmit it this time ? Do i need to get a new one again ????

as per the checklist, pcc is valid for 1 yr from date of issue - so u shud b fine
