First, we are going through lawyers, may not have been necessary but they caught a couple of mistakes and it was nice to have them there to ask alot of questions!
Im sponsoring my commonlaw partner, we are close in age and we both live here in Mexico. He has an estranged daughter that he has no contact with and did not get the medical exam due to the mother not wanting to cooperate with us.
He got his medical done June 20th
Mississauga received the application July 17th. We received the AOR and the approval for me to sponsor him August 26th which at the time was very fast. October 16th our package was received by Mexico City and we were asked for the SSP and PGR certificates along with additional proof of our relationship. All of that was recieved by them November 30th. We didnt hear anything from them again until Feb 5th where they requested a letter explaining the circumstances of his daughter and any other paper work we had regarding that along with a declaration explaining that we understand that he cannot sponsor his daughter in the future. That was received Feb 12th at Mexico city. Then friday, my partner got a phone call from the embassy asking to restate that he understand about not being able to sponsor his daughter when he gets his visa.
We are thinking that is the last step.
