Thanks guys!

Lioha that's a good idea about contacting the Sydney VO. I am 100% certain I put the correct email address for my partner and myself. I need to send further information regarding my Additional Family form and my intent to reside permanently in Canada- so will try and deal with those altogether.

And marcopolocan- party starts now!! Haha :)

Congrats, bagel! All the best for stage 2! :)

Congrats Bagel! Here's to a speedy stage 2!

Still waiting to hear anything from CIC but I guess I still have time to wait before I should worry :)

I was just curious, is anybody planning to land in Canada before their PR is approved? If so, how do you plan to avoid problems at the border?

I will likely be landing before the PR approval, My partner will join me and will wait until the approval comes. I read on other posts to indicate to the immigration officer that:
1) we are waiting for the PR to be approved
2) to show payment receipt and sponsor approval letter and perhaps a copy of the application.
3) Funds to support your family if necessary (evidence)
4) to indicate that while my partner waits she will not to work and that she must leave if PR is refused.
5) fully refundable return ticket? ( not sure about this one, any thoughts?)
6) I plan to send some things via ship (cargo) in my name as I am moving back. It will likely take 6-8 wks.

Did I miss anything.... It would be nice to hear what others are planning to do.
Cheers

p.s. I was just reading the PR card process thread (after you land), seems that the problems don't end after COPR is granted. I hope everyone has taken extra care with those photos we sent in!! If its not one thing...........Oh well, one battle at a time.

Good news guys- I called the number (thanks marcopolocan) and the lovely French Canadian man on the end of the phone said my application was indeed received on the 11th July, and I apparently received an email on the 25th of September to say we have sponsor approval!

Woohoo! Onto the next stage.

I am lucky I didn't have to hold too long, and the man was very helpful and gave me my UCI number.

Good luck everyone else who is waiting and thanks again for everyone's support :D

Congrats!

Thanks sarsa, JimM and Teni.

Teni, yeah i thought for sure they would send snail mail... Weird how they don't just do one or the other consistently for everyone's application... I am pretty impressed at the speed CIC are going right now and hope all Julyers get approved. It's nice to see the spreadsheet almost completely full.

Great to see you have your approval Ms. B. ;D

finally got the approval email this am from Ottawa....

Now to try for a visitor visa again so don't have to wait the 23 months for Singapore....

for those still waiting hope you get your approval soon!

quick question on the approval letter it says i differed payment of the RPRF fee...

but I paid the whole 1040 .....

is it just a form letter?

Today we recieved our AOR... Yippeee! :D

Cogras DDG and collectskulls! Will update the spreadsheet.

Well, I know that we'll get the CSQ. The point is that this whole freaking process takes forever. Everybody seems to really really really take their time - eat doughnuts, drink coffee, play ping-pong or whatever they are NOT PAID to do ... It's not normal to keep families apart for more than 2 years, as that seems to be the practice at some places.

At work, we are sometimes asked to deliver overnight or within hours ... If the immigration system worked at this pace, the whole process would not take more than 3 months. It's all up to management and employees, and 6 month, 1 year or 2 years just to read several pages indicates that there are issues all the way from top to bottom at the employment pyramid.

Ohliuw / Lioha / Avana / Josedavid, any news from MICC? Any CSQ already? My credit card was charged 2 weeks ago and no reply yet.

hey mmacedo (and others)

My credit card was charged almost 3 weeks ago and still nothing! Today was officially the 20th business day since my app was received by them. uggghhh. so frustrated. I was hoping for happy times after a long day of work. I suppose I'll give them 2 more days and call Friday if I still receive nothing.

Hi I used my UCI number but i do not have any file number. When i used my UCI number to check status, it says DM. Is it just for First Stage Approval OR may be my wife will get VISA? My file was in Canada on Sep 27, 2012.
