Hi All: My application was received on July 3rd. I have not received an AOR, but yesterday I got an email saying that they were refunding me $965. They didn't say why. I checked my status online with the UIC number they provided and it just says "Application Received". I've been trying to call all morning to see what's going on. Why would they issue me a refund?

You are freaking me out. Is this an application for you and your spouse or more family members involved? If there were children and you paid extra for them, then that might be why.

I'm just sponsoring my common-law partner. If my math skills are correct that is the same amount I paid for my partner's application fee as well as the "Right of Permanent Resident Fee" that they recommended you pay in advance. I'm very worried and they won't answer the phones at the call centre. I've called about 20 times today!

don't give up...keep trying...Im sorry. I hope they made a mistake. its stupid how they suddenly. say they are refunding without telling you why. keep us updated.

Just wanted to let you know that I called CIC and they have received the application as of yesterday (AOR), no approval letter yet. Thanks

They should be done with July in two weeks if they keep the same trend

Hi Guys,

some positive news at least.

I just called the call centre and provided my UCI only and the agent was able to confirm that my app was received on July 9th and confirmed my details of home address etc in their system. So it looks like this may be an AOR? She did say that no decision has been made as yet which is normal as they are still indicating they are working on July 4th apps.

Two days ago they did not have any information on me when I had called. So hopefully they are starting to work on the second week of July now.

Hey marcopolocan! That's awesome news.. it's great you can keep us in the loop of where CIC are at. Congrats on your AOR! Here's hoping they send the approval via email, so you don't have to wait 3 weeks for the snail mail!

Good luck with your app, I'm sure it will be soon. I hope they don't send the approval via snail mail. I don't think I'll be able to take another 3 wks. Hopefully Sydney will continue to remain fast with their processing.
