Hi guys and gals
I was able to get hold of CIC this morning (call centre). I have my UCI number but the agent indicated that there is no information on my case as yet. My app was received on July 9th. Obviously ECAS is not working for me either.

My observation of CIC procedures is as follows and please correct me if I'm mistaken. It seems that when an app arrives to CPC-M it is initially scanned by someone to ensure that there is enough there to proceed into the queue. If not, then it is sent back as in Charlize rai's case. Then it stays there until an officer assesses your particular case as per date given on the CIC website (ie. July 4th currently). It also seems that a few apps are done later in the month to bring the overall average processing time down.

Some of the posts that I had read indicated that if you made it past 30 days without hearing from CIC you were in the clear, but some recent cases in June indicate that you can still have your app sent back after 60-90 days. Which doesn't ease the nerves any less.

Any thoughts?
Cheers
Wow, that's great to know marcopolocan - thanks for the update! How did you get such a helpful CIC agent, who actually knew what they were talking about?! haha
Processing some people later in the month makes sense I guess, to speed up processing times. I guess CIC don't know the forum has detailed spreadsheets, so in their view it's better to process some people faster, than make promises to those behind the processing date. (Even though that still happens).
It's interesting what you say about the returned packages. I have ben reading about Kiri's case in May, they didn't even place her in the queue after waiting 100+ days - and Kiri wasn't even missing any forms... I think that again brings to light that having many separate envelops, no matter how well labelled, confuses some of the CIC agents into missing forms that are actually there.

Either way it definitely just comes down to bad luck more than anything else- which you are right, doesn't ease the nerves in the slightest!

Here's hoping a smooth process for all the Julyer's here - and a few more approvals before the end of the week might be nice!

Hi Julyers,

I finally got my sponsorship approval today, so excited! :D

Bagelbagel, could you please update me on the spreadsheet?

Thanks,

All the best to the rest of Julyers, you will get there soon!

Just so everyone else knows....my other two envelopes were sent back today. It appears as though someone was intelligent, and did in fact marry them together (I wish that intelligent person had received the first envelope too :(). After they had married them and looked through the file, they sent back a letter, as it was obviously incomplete (some of the forms that I did get back I sent in with my new application). Thus, I guess the count for getting once package back was 13 days, and 72 for the rest of the package. Thank goodness I didn't just wait for it to come back!

Congratulations! When did you send your application?
For the sake of all of those (me) who are applicants from upcoming months, I hope everything goes smooth for June, July and August applicants ::)

I am so nervous about my application. I keep thinking what could go wrong. Sigh....good thing is I don't need to think about this process for a few days...I'm going to see my hubby for a few days only :( but at least I get to hold him ahhhh

Definitely jealous of the holding part. I think I was one of those 'rare' cases that you never hope is you. For the majority of people, it goes a lot smoother, so I am sure that you did things fine. If it was in one envelope, and had all forms/signatures at least they will open a file number. :)

Awe I sure hope so. I'm sorry to hear you had to go through it. With all the stress i got a few pimples lol

Hey lunas - to check July sending/approval dates, check the link in my signature- it has everyone (so far) from July, and a link to other spreadsheets.
You should think about creating one for September applicants! I didn't know how to use google docs (or Xcel for that matter) but used one of the other month's as a template for this one, and then just deleted previous info and updated accordingly. Not as hard as I first thought ;)

reading this is scary :o. i've been waiting for any progress and have been worried about them losing our application. I sent in application in a large folder with 3 envelopes inside for (sponsor/spouse/proof of relationship). this is practically confirming my worst fears of how government runs/manages that office. i guess i should have researched this more before sending :(

Yah - I just hope it never happens again, and I am crossing my fingers the rest goes smoothly. EEK.
