I read the whole article, it says tat they need more & more immigrants so they wil b providing some flexibility n not harden/create rules....I have pasted some lines from the article for ur quick reference..... "I think we are very much on the same page with respect to that in order to continue to allow the economy to grow, not just for our own benefit, but for Canada's benefit, we need to see some more flexibility on that."

I read an article regarding credential assessment. How is it likely to be implemented this july 2012? do i need to have my credentials assessed already since my profession is a regulated one. thanks in advance

I am also in the same thought.... There are chances of probabalility... It may change , it maynot change.... Depends on the person willing to take risk / not

I am applying this year again. Last year i applied under 1122 so obviously i was late in applying ..
this year i am applying by my own as last year my consultant did nothing ... i hope we together will be able to help everyone in this forum seeking help for applying, filling forms etc.

i was filling up form Schedule A Background / Declaration for myself. i have a couple of doubts..
1. question no 5 : personal details of your mother - Family Name at Birth and Given Names - my doubt is, is this the name as specified on my mothers birth certificate. my fathers name will not be included in the first name right.
2. question no 7 : Education - in India Primary education will be 4 years and Secondary education will be 6 years right? Also can we count anything for distance education. i am doing distance mba since dec - 2010. also my wife has done bcom (fulltime 5 years) and mcom part 1 as distance (1 year) and now doing CA final. what are the years that i can show in the education question.
i hope i get some answer.

Ottawa, March 19, 2012 — According to a new evaluation, there is a continued need for Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to manage the intake and processing of immigration applications in a timely and efficient manner, and ministerial instructions (MI) are a flexible and responsive tool to do so.
“The evaluation confirms that it was right and necessary to take measures to manage the sheer volume of applications we receive,” said Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney.
In 2008, the Government of Canada introduced changes to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act through Bill C-50 (the Budget Implementation Act) to tackle the backlog of federal skilled worker (FSW) applications. At the time, more than 640,000 people were waiting to be processed in the FSW category. In order to increase labour market responsiveness and overall efficiency, the Minister was authorized under Bill C-50 to issue special instructions to immigration officers to limit the number of applications processed, accelerate some applications or groups of applications, and return some applications without processing them to a final decision.
According to the evaluation, MIs have helped to reduce the overall FSW backlog. Without MI-1, the FSW backlog would have been at least 850,000 people by 2012. Today, the total number of people awaiting a decision in the FSW program is under 470,000. Furthermore, processing times for newest FSW applicants have dropped considerably – from five years in 2008 to 6–12 months.
“Our government's priority is jobs and economic growth. We are committed to the creation of a fast, nimble and flexible immigration system that can help our economy grow,” said Minister Kenney.
