Oh Take care Alain. What a time to fall sick :-( but at least you are done with your MR. I guess you carried this flu germ from that clinic ???

Ha..ha...Santa won't retire unless he brings you that SUV!! In which we shall all go for a long drive on the roads shown by RKC :-)

Hello Friends,

I'm feeling a bit under the weather today. I think I have the flu. I am dropping this note to say:

- thanks for the show of concern for our kababayans in Southern Philippines. I was just watching the news and the tragedy is still a pain to watch after a week.

- welcome back Your Highness. I asked for Santa to bring you and RKC back. I also asked for an SUV. I got you and RKC back. I think Santa can retire now.

- NKKD Hortons, right now I have more use for a paracetamol tablet than a BMW. hehe. On second thought, Bill gates will you please send me the moolah to buy a BMW X3. I will buy the paracetamol tabs myself.

- Smgre, glad you got your MR. Congratulations to all those who got any kind of good news this week.

- thanks for all the Maligayang Pasko greetings. To those who do not celebrate Christmas, Happy Holidays!

I am going to go get some sleep now. Good night!

welcome back YH and thank u YH......

can u give me the contact number of cic and what are the details we have to give CIO to get our UCI...

0016139444000

Then press 1 then 2 then 1 then 2 then 0

You will then get to an agent. However the waiting time to get to an agent is almost 15-20 mins. So be patient. Just start the conversation by saying that your bank has already confirmed your BD encashment and that you are calling them now to get your UCI (Unique Client ID) and file number (the one that starts with E).

He/she will ask you a few details like name...address....DOB etc and will give yout he numbers. Thats it. Its that simple. Call around 7.30PM India time.

All the best

What exactly is classified as "Survival Jobs"?

Waiting to hear from you.

This is a post on another thread from Odin2404. An answer to my query to him. Thought I'd share with you.

Hey Guys...

Back again. Work keeps me away more than I would like. A lotta people ask me questions about job prospects for NOC 0631 so I'll just share it on my favourite thread

1) Job Prospects: if internet boards and sites are to be believed then there are a lot of jobs out there in the 631 NOC, you need to keep an open mind. i.e. Senior managers need to be open to junior positions etc.

2) Experience Value: Not a lot, if you have five star experience in an international chain, it might get you some leverage. For eg: the Ritz Carlton will always re hire staff that worked there (hopefully not too long ago), same with the Starwood group (Sheraton, Meridien, Westin, etc.)

3) Salary Ranges: its a very dynamic question - for a rest manager (to make it simple) between 24 to 50k pa. Really depends on the organization.

4) The First Job: This one is a real bi*ch. Everyone wants Canadian experience. Like I mentioned earlier, I got tired of applying online and started walking into hotels trying to meet the F&B manager or GMs and introducing myself, this worked for me!

5) Getting Education certified: I did not get my education certified as this is an unregulated sector. When you arrive here you can deicde for yourself. Do not see the merit in getting it certified in India. "THIS IS NOT THE CASE FOR ALL NOCs"

6) CV / Resume: For heavens sake do some homework and google this.

7) Word of caution: Beware of "desis" trying to hire you to their family run Hilton / Holiday Inn franchise. These hotels are the bottom of the spectrum (Hilton Garden Inn / Holiday Inn Express / Staybridge suites etc) have staff that has no title (head cook and bottle washer type) and they ask you to be a consultant or a contractor so that you're not on their rolls and that means no benefits and they can let you go whenever. Do not join these guys under any circumstances. Better of working free standing restaurants.

Wish you all on this forum the best and lemme know when you guys are arriving. I may not be able to do much but can certainly answer questions and shed some light on a dark winter night .... very poetic eh?

Cheers,
O
