I'm feeling a bit under the weather today. I think I have the flu. I am dropping this note to say:

- thanks for the show of concern for our kababayans in Southern Philippines. I was just watching the news and the tragedy is still a pain to watch after a week.

- welcome back Your Highness. I asked for Santa to bring you and RKC back. I also asked for an SUV. I got you and RKC back. I think Santa can retire now.

- NKKD Hortons, right now I have more use for a paracetamol tablet than a BMW. hehe. On second thought, Bill gates will you please send me the moolah to buy a BMW X3. I will buy the paracetamol tabs myself.

- Smgre, glad you got your MR. Congratulations to all those who got any kind of good news this week.

I have a question, the application I received has a UCI number writen on it by a pencil is the same updated in their records and do I need to mention the same when I apply again? Does CIC keeps the records of the documents I had sent, I ask this because if they keep a record then I may be able to send the Open transcript from my university and experience letters, without getting the same again from them.

I hope to get the response so I can prepare my application again.

May I suggest you go to this link and read the entire page thoroughly. After having done that, go to the link provided at the end of the page that reads Federal Skilled Worker Application Package. Go through ALL the links provided there. Read it thoroughly.

You are applying for the second time. You must be extra careful. You have already realised that it is of no good to rely on consultants. So please take some time out. Go thru this link carefully. You will find it very informative. And make sure you follow the instructions in the Instruction Guide to the T.

And hey I'm sorry to hear about you losing that opportunity with your current company. You were expected to join by 13th Jan right? Dont worry, we are all in it together buddy and we will ensure our Canadian dreams happen!!!

Hi cmqa80. Welcome to the forum. I'm glad there is another surviving 1122 from Manila on this thread. I was mostly on my own. It's a good thing the 1122s of India, China, Latin America, and the rest of the world have embraced me as if I was one of their own. ;D

I work for a business and technology consulting firm. Most of my assigned client-projects are outside the country, but since July of this year I have shifted and limited my attention to a few domestic accounts (those mainly in Makati, very near the Canadian Embassy) so I can give time for FSW application-related activities.

At the start, I was not too worried about getting a job in Canada. My current employer initially committed a role for me in our Canada office. However, they did not expect the visa-acquisition process to take more than 6 months. Now, almost 6 months into the process, the company has grown impatient and decided to hire somebody else for what would have been my Toronto role. I now have to seriously find a replacement job. The outlook scares me:

1) Canada's unemployment rate rose from 7.2% to 7.4% in the last 2 months. All projections for 2012 point to an unemployment rate of 8% in 2012. That means there will be around 1.5 million people who will be out looking for jobs at any given time, on average.
2) Recent research shows that there is a higher unemployment rate among immigrants than natural-born Canadians.
3) The average annual pay of immigrants who came to Canada in the last 5 years have been steadily going down, is now about 30% lower than their Canadian-born counterparts. We already know that very little credit is given to education and work experience obtained outside of Canada. It seems as if it will only get worse as Canada enters a period of prolonged economic uncertainty.
4) I learned from a Canadian newspaper item today that the average annual pay of immigrants is surprisingly low. Personally, it is as if I am going to Canada to get a 50% pay cut. Scary indeed.
5) Unlike health professionals, our career paths and bridging programs as business professionals are not as clear cut. It is as if we have to start from zero all over again.

I am not being an alarmist. Just sharing my own thoughts and fears with friends in the forum. After all have been said, I remain optimistic. I will surely work my a*s off to make sure I don't miss out on any opportunity to make something BIG out of my impending transfer. As I have said before, I am ready to take on survival jobs for two years until I get fully integrated into my chosen industry.

Good luck to all of us. And I hope we can all help each other out once we hit the ground running in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary or whatever Canadian city or town we end up in.

Getting a PER is a heady feeling

Dear Friends,

After a long waiting time, Today I have recieved my PER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just about one hour ago I have checked my email and the PER was in my inbox
20 December 2011, 6.45 PM( Romanian Time)

I've tried to copy/paste the whole content of the e-mail from CIO, but I cannot post it!!!?
If enybody can tell me how to post it by Copy/ Paste, I will be more then happy to share
the letter with all of you guys!!

Anyhow, I'am a 1122 applicant which application was received on 03 August, but had the
employement arranged and approved by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada
It's been 5 months now until they checked and confirmed my employment offer .

I wanted to thank all the forum members for the valued information posted and I pray GOD to
be on our side for the long jurney ahead of us !!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey I hope we can celebrate this festival together next year. Simbang Gabi. Wow I cant wait to celebrate different festivals and learn about different cultures, from around the world. And only Canada provides this opportunity.

yes, i noticed too, i miss u NKKD, RKC, Big O, Explorer976, Your Higness, and the rest, yoohoooo, where r u guys? but i guess, they must be very busy especially Christmas is around the corner, few more sleeps and it's Christmas time again.

Luckymystery i have not forgotten u, sorry in a way if i have not written ur name :-X, and to the rest of you my brothers and sisters...My eyelids were drooping already hence i just said all the members whose names are in the ss... We have simbang gabi here w/c starts every December 16 till 24th at 4am, we have to get up at abt 2.30 am to prepare ourselves, but we're not able sleep early (slumber is at more or less 12am which leaves us w/ just less than 3hrs of sleep...

Advance Merry Christmas to everyone and May the spirit of the season stays with us all throughout the year...

After a long and exhausting wait, I have finally received my medical and passport request from the new delhi visa office!! Since, I am in canada on work permit, I am packing my bags back to India to submit the passport! WoooooHoooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

I noticed that you got your RBVO status after 20 days of having PER. I was just wondering, I have received my PER on 16th Nov'2011. My VO is also LOndon. My status is in process but when I click on it it says ' we receveid your appli............. It has been over a month now. What would be the reason for not showing RBVO? please share your experience. Thank you.

hi friend, I have noticed who ever applied after june, first july,2011 their file straght gone to in process with one line ( file rcvd on this date .... ) But mine to lines like date my file rcvd cio and the date cio reviewd my file and sent per to email , my ecas shows rbvo since 22 sep, my address is missing since 19 dec, I don't know wts going on !! But I will order my caips first jan by that time my file will complete 6 months .. We received your application for permanent residence on June 30, 2011.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on September 2, 2011. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
