hello there..the cap for noc 3152 is already on 410..does the CIO process files on First come,First serve basis? cause I heard from another noc 3152 applicant that her friend's file (another noc 3152 applicant) was received on July 15th and the credit card was already charged..

I asked my consultant about this..and She said that there are different reviewers..so my file might be on another reviewer..so if the reviewer of jul15th applicants r faster than the reviewer of july 13th applicants..we might lose slots for caps?

my aunt checked it last monday..it was not yet encashed..She told me she cant able to check my Bd status again this month for she will be out of town and will be back by next month..

vnca credit card was charged last sept 2,2011..her file was also received last july 13 by cic..also under noc 3152..


sept 3-4 is a weekend,sept 5 is labor day..so I am not just sure about bank draft/certified cheque's length of processing..Im just keeping my hope that it will take at least 5-10days to appear on the bank's sytem and to be processed accordingly..


I just hope that CIC practice the "first come,first serve" basis cause theyve already charged on jul15 applicants

It doesnt match with the format you mentioned above ( Appl. rec.)
Please... Later months it will be difficult to guess whether AOR is in d mnth of Aug/Sep......

definitely it will be first come first serve... no doubt about that ......!

rest be assured that they already got your application but awaiting your turn and since you're applying under 0631, cap's still under 200 but backlogs might be high.

Dear Members

I am silent member of this forum and this is my first post. I applied under NOC 0631 from Singapore.

After reading the MI3 on 25-Jul-2011, I immediately sent the application on the same day after the courier guy said that it would reach NS on 04-Jul-2011. But they were tooooo fast and delivered it on 29-Jul-2011. I immediately knew it would be returned because it fell in 2010-2011 quota and the cap was over long ago.

So, I started preparing the second application, got all the documents and sent it on 18-Jul-2011 and it reached CIO on 21-Jul-2011.

I sent an enquiry on 30-Aug-2011 and received the following reply yesterday.


Good Afternoon,

Please note: currently we do not have record of your second submission, however, that does not mean it is not with our office. We currently have a backlog of applications awaiting initial process. This delay is caused by the large volume of mail received at once after the Canada Post mail strike of June 2011. Please provide the tracking # of your secondary submission.

You are indeed correct about your 1st submission and your first application has been returned to you on 18 Jul as the CAP was reached.

Please allow some additional time for our office to process your application and re-inquiry in 2 or 3 weeks.

Meantime, one of our member Jairam (NOC 0631) reported that his CC charged on 07-Sep-2011 and his application reached on 14-Jul-2011.

On 06-Sep-2011, CIC website updated the new CAP list.

After analyzing the above information, I assume that CAP reported for NOC 0631 (112) was upto atlest 14-Jul-2011 and not until 06-Sep-2011. Since they do not have any information on my second application, it shows they have not even opened my application which received on 21-Jul-2011.

So, as per my assumption the backlog is around 50 days.

I am leaving the rest for your analysis.

I think when CIO updates CAP, they do not consider unopened applications. When they say CAP for 0631 is 112, then it is until either 14-Jul or 15-Jul. I think it is same for all other NOCs also.

Yes, they process files on first come first served basis & NO, you will not loose slots, they will consolidate data from different reviewers before issuing PER but that will happen mainly for the NOC that is very close to the cap which is your case.

Mr. mak is another member of this forum who received a similar reply from CIO, I have copied his post below and highlighted the difference between the two replies. Finally, note that if there is anything wrong with the application they would have informed you in their reply.

Anyway, my application was received on 6th July & CC was charged on 4th Aug. But i made a big mistake when filing the application - i didn't included the "Proof of relationship" doc (i.e b\cert of my uncle & father) since it was unavailable. I tthink its good as you've mailed and gotten response from them, that sets your mind straight. my best guess would be that you'll be at the mercy of the officer who screens your file since you mentioned on your application that you have relatives he/she might be good to assist, i'l suggest you reply that you have the proof of relation awaiting their directive for you to send it, otherwise, if you wait for them to minus the point, it may affect your chances. be fast!

I heard that CC and DD processing times are the same (People with banking background please advice); One thing is for sure, DD is much more secure, it is "money in the bank" sort of speak so it is not a big deal if it is not encashed at the same moment of the review (depends on the reviewer). if you look at the sheet updated by our friend Westpoint, you will notice that only 10% of the reported encashements are DDs.

CC, on the other hand, are more risky as the money could be available in the bank today but not necessarily tomorrow (no balance in the account or account frozen for any reason, the issuing bank may not honor the payment as they might think it is a stolen CC especially that the payment is taking place in a different country...)

I hope this gives you some peace of mind, we all need it

yes ofcourse cc charging - you will come to know faster...
