Hello,
For those who have been granted PER, does any of you submitted your application after July 1, 2011 and requested Buffalo as your visa office? And what is your NOC (I wonder if there is a difference in processing time for different NOC in the same visa office)?

Dear Members

I am silent member of this forum and this is my first post. I applied under NOC 0631 from Singapore.

After reading the MI3 on 25-Jul-2011, I immediately sent the application on the same day after the courier guy said that it would reach NS on 04-Jul-2011. But they were tooooo fast and delivered it on 29-Jul-2011. I immediately knew it would be returned because it fell in 2010-2011 quota and the cap was over long ago.

So, I started preparing the second application, got all the documents and sent it on 18-Jul-2011 and it reached CIO on 21-Jul-2011.

I sent an enquiry on 30-Aug-2011 and received the following reply yesterday.


Good Afternoon,

Please note: currently we do not have record of your second submission, however, that does not mean it is not with our office. We currently have a backlog of applications awaiting initial process. This delay is caused by the large volume of mail received at once after the Canada Post mail strike of June 2011. Please provide the tracking # of your secondary submission.

You are indeed correct about your 1st submission and your first application has been returned to you on 18 Jul as the CAP was reached.

Please allow some additional time for our office to process your application and re-inquiry in 2 or 3 weeks.

Meantime, one of our member Jairam (NOC 0631) reported that his CC charged on 07-Sep-2011 and his application reached on 14-Jul-2011.

On 06-Sep-2011, CIC website updated the new CAP list.

After analyzing the above information, I assume that CAP reported for NOC 0631 (112) was upto atlest 14-Jul-2011 and not until 06-Sep-2011. Since they do not have any information on my second application, it shows they have not even opened my application which received on 21-Jul-2011.

So, as per my assumption the backlog is around 50 days.

I am leaving the rest for your analysis.

but does it is mean that he is not under the 200 cap. i mean does CIO gives update of total application received considering the backlogs. If not then no one can send application based on the CIO caps updates

Yes very true if cic is having baclogs while updating their website then it is of no use to aplicants anyways the backlog issue wil b cleared in few weeks to come
