Hi everyone. I hope you are all doing good. I have not been able to post much, or respond to private messages and requests for updates. So, again, I am doing the updates in one go via this post. I am doing very well in Toronto. I have been here for 3 weeks.. nearly a month now. Time flies. Yesterday I started on my first canada job as a resource & capacity manager for a business & tech consulting firm. Happened pretty quickly. I feel blessed. So far so good. I couldn't have asked for a better start. Canada has been good to me in a very extraordinary way. So guys, power up, build confidence, and make sure you carry a positive attitude and perspective at all times. I hope everybody makes it here, and makes the most of what Canada has to offer.

For those asking, immigration at Pearson Intl Airport was a breeze for me. I was not asked any questions and was therefore out the door in 5 mins. After arrival, I got my social insurance number in 30 minutes at a Service Canada outlet in a mall (they are everywhere, google it!); I applied for my health card at a Service Ontario outlet near the apartment I am renting (they are everywhere, too, google it!) in under 10 minutes; I got a canadian mobile phone line at a mall in 10 mins, and I opened bank accounts in 2 banks (TD Canada and RBC) in an hour. I got my credit card from RBC (Royal Bank of Canada). They are pretty friendly to immigrants there at RBC. I suggest you open an account and apply for a credit card there. So my point is: clean up your act before you leave, take care of things that you have to take care of back at home, because the things you have to do here once you arrive, you can do in a week. They are fast and efficient around here.

Good luck my friends! And please pray that things continue to go well for me.

Here are pics of some of my adventures so far:

Hey gina pie
Don't take a risk at this moment; borrow some money & send that back once you land safely. You never know when & who can ask you what... ???

Your Highness,

Im i MI2 or MI3??????
can you please read my post and clear this confusion?????

After you got NER did you send in a new set of application and forms / docs, or did the processing proceed with what you had submitted in May?

If you submitted a new set in Aug, you are MI3. If they have proceeded with the docs you submitted in May, you are MI2.

In any case it doesn't matter now coz you have waited out your waiting period for MI2 as well. There should be no extended delay. You have already waited for 3 months now after MR. This is the wait some MI2's have suffered (and some unfortunate MI3's like us ;))

Cheers

Hello Gina...you're leaving on the 14th. Thats great news :) Wish you a safe trip.

About the funds. There are instances where no proof of funds were asked for at the POE. However there are equal number of instances where POF was necessary. Infact there have been cases where they even doubted a Bank Statement and the applicant had to go thru hell and high waters to prove to the officer at the POE. They called up the Bank (thankfully it was a Canadian Bank) and let him go only after the Bank confirmed over phone.

So I would say...don't take a chance. You would anyway require that money to settle down there. So don't take a chance either ways, I would say.

All the best girl. God bless!

Rawlin....

3 months after pp submission......
not from the day you get your MR and other doc req....
its been more than 2 months now.....

me sidestep yourhigness,,,,, almost share the same timeline....
but still i have a doubt that mine will take more time as i myself m not sure whther
i belong to MI2 or MI3...... i still have this confusion....
as i had applied in may 2011.... initially it was refused and got a NER in august bec of some confusion....
later again they reconsidered and i got my 1st AOR in nov...and since then it was pretty smooth..

hello sahil
You have mentioned that your case was reconsidered. Did you request them for reconsideration?..or NER was just a system error...? Or ur application was with CIC NS and they considered it coz ur NOC was again relaunched in MI 3....wht is ur opinion...?
I think you fall into mi 3 category as ur application was reconsider under MI3...wish you DM soon mate...cheers.
