You know NKKD, I have an unfulfilled desire from many years now to learn bike riding. I even tried learning for few days but gave up eventually. My kids want me to drop them to school on a bike. They keep saying why can't you learn.

I can teach you a gearless bike.I just need the oppprtunity-time and place. I have been driving since 13 years and it is a lot of fun. I could have accumulated 10,000 kms of bike riding experience. I still want to learn to ride a HD or a RE... kind of super bikes.

Hello Kaur,

Now, I think I know why they requested you for an updated proof of funds. Your bank account was very new when you sent your application since you said that you will be able to provide only 5 months statement and not 6 months. There is every reason for the NDVO to believe that the funds in your account are not yours. In this situation, new bank statement and updated passbook alone are NOT SUFFICIENT.

Now their question comes to " Tell me where you got the money from?" and you need to prove that the money is yours and that you did not borrow it from anyone. Money that is borrowed will not be accepted and your application will be rejected.

I am sorry but I have to say that you already made a mistake by opening a fresh bank account just before you applied.

Let us say, you transferred that amount from another bank account of yours, you need to show them those transaction details. Or, if you sold a property, then you should show them the details of the sale of that property.

Did you use a consultant for your application? If not, just go and talk to a consultant and see what he has to say. He may be able to help you as to how to overcome this situation.

Actually Kamla Nagar is the Crime Branch ( Police ) .It is not a Passport Seva Kendra. I actually did not know that one can obtain PCCs from Passport Seva Kendra. Generally to obtain a Police Clearance Certificate, It takes roughly a month or so as experienced by a few others on this forum. I got one PCC obtained in July 2011 , at the time of my application that I have already sent to the VO. I have again applied for the same and plan to send it as that will be an updated one and I was not sure ifthe July 2011 would still suffice.

Generally the passport seva kendra's are not authorized to give you police clearance certificates as the name suggests , Police needs to clear you and only then the certificate can be obtained. There is a forma verification that takes place when you apply for the PCC and then after the verification, the report is submitted to the local police station depending on the area where you live in Delhi. Once this happens, the report is sent to Crime Branch and they are the ones who will isuue the certificate,. They have a turn around time of 5 days after which the certificate comes back to the local thana. Once it is there, one needs to go there and collect it after the SHO/ACP signs the certificate.
