What is CIIP.....?
Canadian Immigrant Integration Program (CIIP)
Immigration is vital to Canada's population growth and economic prosperity. Yet, while demand for their skills grows, many highly competent newcomers to Canada remain underemployed.
To address this problem, the Government of Canada funded the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) to develop and implement the Canadian Immigrant Integration Program (CIIP) which prepares newcomers for economic integration while still in their country of origin. Launched as a pilot project in 2007, CIIP is now a three-year program (2010-2013) that is funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).
CIIP provides free pre-departure orientation to Federal Skilled Workers, Provincial Nominees, their spouses and adult dependents, while they are still overseas during the final stages of the immigration process.
CIIP helps immigrants prepare for economic success by providing information, planning and online support through partners in Canada.
CIIP offices are located in China, India, Philippines and the United Kingdom and services are available in additional service delivery locations.
How CIIP Can Help You.....?
Preparing You for Economic Integration
CIIP staff overseas and partners in Canada help you understand the current realities of the Canadian economy. They support you in planning for a career path based on recognition of your skills, knowledge and experience. They provide resources and tools accessible overseas to help you improve your ability to gain appropriate employment in Canada.
CIIP will help you prepare for success by giving you:
Access to the best information and research resources;
Expert advice to help you consider options and make decisions that are right for you and your family;
Insights into challenges you might face; and,
Direct connections with employers and other organizations that can support you while you are still in your country of origin through transitioning to Canada.
