Job Search on 8-month visa - all members please contribute on feasibility

Calling on all forum members,

Basically I am finishing an 8 month course in Canada; will get an 8 month work permit. I work in IT.

My question is based on your knowledge of the canadian labour market, or general objective opinion, do you think it will be easy to find a job within 2 months so I can work in canada for 6 months in IT.

Please let me know!

You may find the response I made to another discussion on this site helpful. Read the discussion started by " jp261187 " . In this discussion thread my personal experience has been that while some people will be lucky and find a job quickly, the average timeline is 3 months. It can also be longer depending on specific variables, and it can be faster. What's important is you do all your homework and set realitic timelines and expectations.

I've also found that you need to assume it will take a few months and if it's less time than great.
