Job Letter and NOC concerns

Hello helpful community, as I am in the process of gathering documents I have come across certain concerns in regards to the job letter and NOC which I am hoping you guys can help me out.

-What should the subject of the job letter be? Proof of work experience?

-I am currently working in Canada.(PGWP). I have had 3 jobs so far. All of it accumulates to 2 years and few months. I should be able to obtain letters from all 3 employers. However, all the companies I worked were small businesses. Therefore, I am able to reach the CEO/Director personally and ask him for the letter etc. Will there be an issue if all my letters are in the same format(it will be on the respective company's letterhead). The same format being it will be written in the same formal style with its respective NOC code along with my job duties, job status, work hours, benefits etc.

In short, I am planning to create the letter myself so it contains all the information expected from CIC. I take it to my company, request it to be printed on the letterhead(explain the reasons) and then have the Director/CEO sign and stamp it etc. Ofcourse CIC can call and validate it, search online etc. Therefore, this might lead for the letters to be similar(not exact but similar)

Another concern is 2 of the companies that I worked with(One of them is my current employment) is owned by the same Director/CEO. 2 different companies but same owner. I have T4 from both the companies etc. In short, I was working in this other company as a systems analyst and when the director created another specialized R&D company- he took some of the team members there. Legally both those companies exist, in one of them he is a Project Director and in the other(currently where I work)- he is the CEO. Is this going to be a problem?

Other than the letters, what else should I provide? T4? Paystubs(I do not have any from the previous companies). I do have the T4 and can get the letters.

-Can I choose a primary NOC that I am not currently employed in but have a 12+ months experience?

I only have one NOC skill type-A that I have 12+ months experience in.

I am currently working in skill type-B that I have 7 months and going on...

The other one was also a skill type-B that I have about 6-7 months experience in.

So can I choose my primary NOC which is skill type-A as it has 12+ months experience although I am not employed under that NOC/Company?

Please advice.

Thank you for the patience for reading this lengthy post. I really appreciate the effort being put here.

Cheers.

-It's better for you to change the format of the reference letters you're providing. It doesn't matter if the roles and responsibilities are same but try to paraphrase the sentences and jumble it.

-It shouldn't be a problem but mention it in a sentence when you write your LOE with the application.

-Your application is based on the primary NOC you select, so make sure you have more than one year of experience in the same with all the paperwork.

-You must provide offer letter, letter of references, T4's and NOA's for the experience you provide.

Thank you for your advice. It really helped.

LOE = Letter of Explanation?
NOA = Notice of Assessment?

Will there be a problem if you do not have your NOA?

Offer Letter? I was under the impression that it is for LMIA stuff. Should I get an offer letter from my current employer?

If so, what should my job offer letter contain?

Please advice. Thanks alot mate.

Cheers.

This tells you much of what you need to know, including the details that must be in the letter of employment.

Yes, the abbreviations are correct. I have seen a friend being asked for NOA when he didn't attach it, you can get this by calling CRA if you have misplaced yours. Offer letter means, your job offer letter or should I say letter of employment - it usually contains, your job overview, company policies, payment structure etc.

Sorry for the late reply. Quick question= Are Job Letter and Reference letters 2 different thing? Do I need both from all my ex-employers and current employer? Whats the difference in both of them?

Please advice. Thank you so much for the help.

Job letter is your job contract which a company gives to the candidate they hire, usually contains terms and conditions, date of starting, benefits etc.

Reference letter is where your employer confirms you worked/work for them with starting date and ending dates, hours worked / week and your role and responsibilities are such and such.

For more info, you can google. All the best.

just curious- do I need the Job letter/contract from all the previous employers? I do have the current one and most likely the previous one but not the others.

Whats your advice? Thank you so much for taking the time to look into this. Cheers.

Yes, it plays a vital role for backing up your application for the points you've claimed by showing these experiences. See if you can get these from your earlier employers, if the company is shut down or any such issue, you can write a reference letter from your old manager/colleagues. You need to find this part in the forum as there was a thread where this was discussed.

No problem, here to help.

I mean I can get the reference letters as I will be personally seeing them and request one from the company. I am just doubtful about the job contract for one of my job experience that was about 1 and half years ago.

If I cannot get the Job Contract letter for the experience I had one and half years ago - do you think the a Job Reference letter on the company letterhead with the signature/stamp etc will suffice?

Thank you.

Great. Make sure you add pay stubs and tax forms to solidify your claim.

I havent got to part to uploading the documents. But how many documents can you upload per category? example: how many just for job experience?, how many for education? etc?

Generally, you do not need a job offer letter or contract, the Letter of Reference / Letter of employment are the same thing, they attest to past work experience (which job offer letters do not). There are some situations where the extra documents are helpful (e.g. if you are not able to get the Letter of employment, or some details are missing).

Read the section under "Proof of Work Experience" to see the requirements for the reference letter.
