Hello guys.

Was just curious about a matter.
Actually, I was surfing on the official website of Toronto Immigration, where I found that government agencies could help newcomers finding jobs related to one's profession.

Name of the institutions are for example, Toronto Employment and Social Services, City of Toronto's Employment Information, etc.

I just was curious about whether this information is true or not? Or if it is true, then what are the chances that these organisations help newcomers getting a job?

Any type of suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

There are GoC websites that assist in job search like reviewing your CV, boosting your confidence and giving you job search tips. It's not a placement agency. You have to do your leg work.

Agreed. They will help you prepare - but finding a job is up to the individual.

Thanks for your kind reply.

Yes, I know that leg work would be all dependant on ourselves only, but do they have resources to guide us properly to find jobs in our field of education/experience?

They typically provide general guidance (e.g. how to structure a resume in Canada, interview skills, widely used job sites). Generally they do not provide job field specific guidance (e.g. I'm a mechanical engineer with experience in the automotive field - what should I look for a job?).

That solved my puzzle..
Thanks
