Hi All,

Is it mandatory that the job reference letter is issued by the HR of the organization you are working in? HR usually does not provide such certificates to employees currently in service.

With all this said, how good is it if one gets the same reference letter, i.e. on the official letterhead of the firm, with the details mentioned and signed by his senior (say the head of the department or someone like that)? Is it better to have this done on an affidavit? or simply getting this done on company letterhead will do the work?

Thanks in advance :)

You can get the letter from your senior and it doesnt have to be from the HR
No need for affadavit or anything as long as the letter is on the official letterhead
Just remember that whoever sign the letter has to has his/her name, designation and contact information

If you can also get it stamped, it makes it look a lot more authentic. If you want to have separate letters for tasks/duties and things like salary, working hours, etc., that also works.

by "stamped" do you mean notarized?

No, stamped means a company seal. No need for notarization or affadavit of any sorts if the letter is on the company letterhead
If you cant get it stamped its fine, you dont have to

Oh yes, I can get the job duties and all other details mentioned on one single piece of paper and get that signed by my HOD and have it stamped. Sounds good enough? Am I needed to include his business card along?

Yup this is all you need just make sure this piece of paper has the company's official letterhead and of course printed in color.
No need to provide the business card of the HOD (given that the HOD mentions his/her name and designation in the sign off area)

Hey regarding that color print thing, my company logo and letterhead are all black. I might sound silly to ask, but would that be a problem? Just curious :D

Nothing whatsoever it just makes it look more genuine. But there are no color restrictions on the documents colors except for the PCC that has to be in color
