Hi, I am new Permanent Resident and will be landing as a PR next month. I have Gold jewellery I may want to bring into Canada. If these are worth more than 10000 a peice do I have to pay any duties or taxes on these?

No. First time settlers are allowed duty free import of jewelry, irrespective of cost of each/total items.

You do not have to bring all the jewelry on your first trip to save on custom fees. You could fill up a 'Good to follow' form (download from CIC website) take pictures and value of each of the jewelry you are planning to bring and then take it to the customs after your first landing. They would review it and sign/seal on it.
On your next trip you can bring the jewelry in the list without any customs fees.

Thank you all for your responses. I have one clarification though - I was a temporary resident now returning to Canada as a PR after 2 months. Do any restrictions apply to me? According to this link - https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/mrc-drc-eng.html there seems to be a value limitation on any item I import. Many of my jewellery items will easily exceed the 10,000 CAD limit. Will they become dutiable in this case?

Even though you are temp resident of Canada, still you are entitled to import your goods duty free as new PR. I was on work permit in Canada until Feb 2016, moved back to Canada in Jan 2019 as PR and imported all my stuff duty free.
