Why does it matter to you, that it matters to me? The person I was responding to mentioned the country, so I checked the processing time stated by IRCC compared to the timeline she has seen them approved in - so that I can assume in theory a similar situation for my spouses country.
My apologies. I didn’t see the previous post that you replied to. I thought you were one of those on this forum who compared everything with Indian applicants. Again, I apologize.
It's fine and yes I have compared a few times but in terms of the NDVO being able to process applications quicker compared to other VO's. As in, what makes their VO processes work better than others.
Hello Everyone, I am a permanent resident living in Canada right now. I have sent in application to sponsor my wife from India. She is currently living in India. Due to some personal family emergencies I have to leave country for minimum 6 months. can anyone please advise me on how does this affect my sponsership application? Will this adversely affect my eligibility to sponsor my spouse as I will have no income?
Replied in other thread. You are required to remain resident in Canada except for 'short trips.' IRCC can cancel the app at any point if they decide you are not resident in Canada. While there's no definition of short trips, six months or more would definitely not be within that definition.
In my ECAS, status changed to Application Received from In Process last week. Called IRCC today, they told they dont have the authorization form (where my wife authorized me to access her information on behalf of her) in the system. But gave me the option to add my wife on conference call and get verbal authorization from her. After that, the agent advised my wife to hang up and proceeded with giving me information about her application.
Later, the agent informed me that even though the status changed to 'Application Received', the application is still in Canada and has not been assigned to any VO yet. She said she is not aware of why the status changed, but told that it could be because it will be assigned soon. But, its already one week since the status changed.

Same case for me, but I was not able to get in touch with IRCC by calling. This helps a lot, thanks
No, if they've processed that much of your application they have deemed it complete. They can ask for additional info later.
Those applications did not go to NDVO. NDVO is known to be a slow visa office. They either went to Ottawa, Beijing, or stayed in Nova Scotia and were finalized by the new hires.
