I have another update, my background status is now updated to completed, and the last update is August 9th.

Fantastic. Mine hasn’t updated yet, I’m a day behind you. So hopefully by tomorrow it updates for me too. Fingers crossed test invites come through soon.

After the “ghost” update on August 6th, I can confirm that my background verification has now been updated to “completed”. Latest updated date is August 10th.

Looks like they stopped processing/sending test invites to paper applications for now, and are focusing on online applications. I'm happy for online app., i know y'all have been waiting for a long time. I hope paper and online both applicants start getting test and oath invites soon and get it all done before November- December wouldn't wanna drag this waiting game until next year!

Guys, what does the ghost email says?

Is it just another email that starts with "Follow the progress of your citizenship grant application with the Citizenship Application Tracker"?

Which is the same as the one we recieved already at the beginning?

How long do you guys think (according to your experience) it would take for the Background verification to be completed?

It usually takes few days for your status to change, the change could be the background verification is complete, or at the least, that is what happened to me, Hope that answers your question.

It may take a while after background check is complete. Mine was complete on April 27 and everything else(except oath and test) has been in "in progress" since then so patience is the key .
