Hi Everyone,

I have a question i need help with about Police certificate. I became PR (PR landing) in June 2017 and now applying for my citizenship. I was in US before 2017 (for more than 183 days) on a student visa (Been in US on student visa since 2012). I submitted by FBI report back then for PR purposes and then I also ordered a new FBI report (needed it again as part of my background check for work) on Dec 21 2018 and never visited US since I Immigrated to Canada (i.e. June 2017). My question is, do I need a new FBI summary check report to apply for citizenship?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
Yes. The the Police clearance must have obtained in the past 6 months from the data of your application inorder for it to be eligible

For question #11 Five Years History - can i add multiple activities for the same time period? For example, one for "Studying" from 2016 january to 2016 may. And another entry for Part time job during that same period.?

Plus there's no postal code field in the address details for the same. Should i put it in the address bar just in case?

How to respond to question#13 of the application (Adult), do we need to include only the details in the last 5 years or lifetime? the instructions provided are not clear and didn't mention specifically last 5 years?

I dont think you need as you were a US resident and you never went back after you landed in Canada. To verify look at the scenario given on Canadian website.

I think they're asking about any status held in the past. So if i were to say I have held citizenship of my home country by birth i would put my birthdate for "the date obtained field". And nothing for expiry. And I'm not 5 year old so it obviously goes back to whatever one's age is. But if you've held any other permanent resident or temporary resident visa status for any other country i would say you should declare those details as well. As it doesn't specify that the question is only for 5 years eligibility period.

Are you using the latest form? Here a snippet from the guide:
Question 13.
Tell us if you have had immigration, permanent resident status and/or citizenship in any other country outside of Canada (e.g. your country of birth)

  • Check either yes or no.
  • If you check yes, complete the chart.
  • Tell us which countries you have held status in, and exactly what status you held or currently hold (student, employment/worker, refugee/protected person, permanent resident or citizen).
  • Date you obtained each status(YYYY-MM-DD)
  • End date if no longer valid, if applicable (YYYY-MM-DD). Leave blank if you currently hold this status

This question covers your whole life (since birth).

Hi,
I have been trying to apply online for the last few days but my application is not saving documents. Every time after saving any PDF file if I go to another tab to fill that and return to the first page and hit refresh all submitted documents just disappear. I have tried windows 8.1, windows 10, iPad, chrome, Firefox and safari just to rule out any technical issues sadly none of them have been able to help me. Would you kindly tell me what did you do to successfully submit your application and if you encountered any similar issues then how did you fix them. Thank you in advance.

Hey there! I used chrome on windows 10 to do my application. I made sure everything that I am uploading is less than 4mb and in .pdf file format (except the photo which was .jpeg). I also named my files as follow: filename_firstname_lastname so for example physical_presence_calculator_firstname_lastname.pdf

Yes, I noticed. I sent a web form inquiry and I'm waiting to hear back. For now, I made sure I report any statuses/travels starting from the date in the application (which is a day earlier than the online calculator)
