I am gonna apply on January 25th, I'll be eligible to apply on 24th. I've started preparing for all the documents and application forms. Just wanted to ask a few questions. I'll appreciate if anyone can help. :

1st : I had a month's break between the expiry of my study permit and issuance of my work permit. So on my physical Presence Calculator it will look like there's a gap. I hope it's okay and self explanatory as being on implied status/was waiting. Am i correct?

2nd : on the checklist they're asking for all the travel documents used in the past 5 years. I'm sure I'll have to include my expired passport and the new one. But is that it? Should i also send a copy of PR card (as i also used that as a travel document) and COPR? Just in case they need it.

3rd : is Driver's license and Healthcard (OHIP) good for two id proofs?

4th : my photographs have stamps from the studio as required and I'll have to write my name on it but the stamp also asks for a guarantor's signature. Is that necessary!? If so, who can sign as a guarantor?

5th : are black and white photocopies of docs. fine? And is it okay to get a large A4 size print out of photo ids (i printed out scanned copies of ids)?

6th : should i apply online or by mail? Which one is better/fast?

I didn't know about online application option now. I guess all paper based gotta wait longer.

1st. The period of study/work permit is to calculate your physical present in Canada before PR up to a maximum 365 days. If your days before PR are already calculated max days, I don't think the implied gap matter. You can try to recalculate to see if shows different days.
3rd. Below link shows which ID can use.

Thanks bud. Yes my physical Presence before PR is already over 365 days. i also don't think it should matter but i thought may be people select the other option which is "temporary resident" or something as an alternative so thought of clarifying.

Guys, please be noted that Canada citizenship applications for adults 5(1) and minors 5(2) are updated last evening.

Current updated form versions are CIT 0002(10-2020), CIT 0003(10-2020). Validation process introduced in new forms.

If your application reaching to CPC-Sydney on or after March 1, 2021 you should use these forms

Anyone observed?. There are some errors/bugs in the New Citizenship form CIT 0002 (10-2020).
Section 15(Language Evidence) is not working.

One thing I don't understand CIT 0002(10-2020) means, IRCC updated New version in Last year October?
But last Thursday, when I downloaded version CIT 0002 ( 12-2019). It was filled and sent Yesterday. How can this possible?

Actually, I found this update yesterday evening.

My concern is I made the mistake of sending an old version.

Applications received at our Case Processing Centre (CPC) in Sydney, NS March 1, 2021 or later must use forms from October 2020 or later (indicated on the lower left corner of the form). Application forms that are not up-to-date will be returned as incomplete. IRCC does not consider the date of signatures or mailing to be deciding factors.

I believe you are safe if your application ( old version CIT0002) reaches Sydney,NS before March 1,2021.

Yep!! I was really confused as well since it said the form was updated in November 2020, but they literally didn't update the website with the new form or the new instruction guide or the new document checklist until January 20, 2021. I thought I was going crazy too as I had just looked at the website a week before and couldn't understand why everything was different.

I, too, just submitted the older 2019 forms. It was express posted on January 18th, and it arrived yesterday on January 21st, so too late to update to the new forms. But, other than not being able to be validated, crossing my fingers that it is all filled out properly and won't get rejected!

Hi @softwaretesting , can you please add me (I.e. my husband!) to the tracker as well? Paper application as I didn't realize we could do it online until after I had mailed it, as IRCC website doesn't mention the online beta application option is available (at least where I looked!)...
