how long background check stays valid?
I believe it is a year. Our background check was completed in May 2021, and the GCMS notes have it expiring in May 2022.

This is what I fear - although I have decision made as well, the background check will expire in less than a month. It will be back to in progress then with additional uncertain wait.
Your status is Decision Made. It means that your application is approved within a specified BG Check period. Oath ceremony not linked to BG check ( my personal observation)

Those who are waiting for decision made status they need to worry. Especially, those who are given finger prints they need to give again.

I hope you are right. However I have seen a few cases on the forum of folks moving from decision made to in progress.. including the person whose post I replied to.

I think this is probably not correct. Someone I know told me last year they expedite his oath ceremony because background check was expiring.

I'm in this situation, DM and everything except oath completed early August and 15th of March ghost update and DM back to in process. No clue about what's happening. Any ideas?
EDIT

I just saw that I replied to you in the previous page :D

Hi guys, is an oath ceremony invite same as a Microsoft office interview}

No - Oath invite is the final step where you will take oath of citizenship in front of an immigration judge with 60-70 other people - happens on zoom.

Microsoft teams interview is a 1-1 interview with an IRCC official - they will likely ask you to present some documentation about your travels etc., ask some questions. If the file is clear, this is usually the final step before decision made.
