Thanks for updating the sheet ever so diligently, Mods.I have added new entries for people who got AOR, but we are missing location and physical presence data.
Not required if the country of Origin before becoming / attaining PR status is country of BirthHello friends,
I am applying for citizenship using online method for my wife. She completed her 3 year requirement. There is a question regarding police clearance that in past 4 years have you lived in any country other than canada if yes then provide police clearance or explanation why you can’t. In my wife’s case before 3 years coming to canada she was in india since birth. So for that 1 year before 3 years does she needs police clearance or not. Thanks
I would not advise to submit paper on top of electronic application.
Yes, paper ones advance way better now than the electronic ones, but :
1. it is hard to predict how do they approach in the future based on previous behavior since it seems that they do not have any strict procedures and many factors could influence the result. E.g. they can start giving priority to electronic apps over paper. you never know.
2. the situation is not good but it is not so bad either. January applications start to receive AORs recently (comparing to march-april period when there were no news whatsoever). So if you've submitted in January you may receive your AOR quite soon
3. most important : they explicitly ask not to send paper application for those who have already submitted electronic ones. That could confuse their system and you could end up with even worse situation than now.
just my 5 cents
I applied online on feb 1st and like everyone else I am still waiting on the AOR. A few questions:I did both, so my project citizenship is sort of a lab rat experiment. My first application is a paper one got my AOR by July , my online application sent in April 2021, didn't progress any further till date. Whatever comes first, sounded a better idea. It's not recommended doesn't mean it can't be tried. Eventually, you get to write one exam and swear one oath. Whichever route gives you a shot at the exam first will be better, and you can withdraw the other at that point of time. You will probably loose the fee paid either in full or partially, depending on the stage of the application.
1. Initially on Jan 19, 2021. It was wrongfully returned to me in April 2021 citing it to be incomplete. I've resent in April 2021 with an LOE and got an AOR ion July 07, 2021.I applied online on feb 1st and like everyone else I am still waiting on the AOR. A few questions:
1- When did you apply for the paper one?
2- Does the AOR in any form indicate which application has been acknowledged?
Is that a normal thing or something extra that not everyone needs to provide? So I got the request for fingerprints today. Below is the timeline:
Was it a online application made on 4th January? My spouse applied for citizenship on 4th of January. Citizenship is scheduled between 6th of August and 26th of August.
E mail is not received yet.
Please update the status tracker. By the way I do appreciate if anyone has info when can we receive e mail and what happens if we don t get e mail
Regards
