January 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

Hey guys,
Just received the last update.
"Application Status - Closed.
Reason: We have approved your application to become a Canadian citizen.

Congratulations!
You are now a Canadian citizen. Welcome to the Canadian family!"

Strangely a few delayed updates. Including "April 21st -Your oath was completed" but it got posted today.

And this too.

Oath or affirmation of citizenship form required
New update

We sent you the oath or affirmation of citizenship form. You’ll fill out this form at the ceremony. If you’re at an in-person ceremony, you’ll submit your signed form at the ceremony.

If you are at a video oath ceremony, email your signed form to us (follow the instructions we sent you)."

So, if any of you are anxious about the updates not reflecting on the tracker when we generally expect them. Don't worry, the profile may not be up to date all the time. I guess they sometimes miss one click or something to reflect the latest changes on our tracker. (Just my two cents).

Will update when i receive the certificate.

I got the same updates today (NGF office) same date for April 21st as well. Please let me know when you get your certificate and I will let you know when I get mine

My test status just changed to ‘completed’ on the tracker.

Still in progress for language, presence and prohibitions.

All sections in tracker updated to completed yesterday.
Oath ceremony not started.
Expecting an invitation for the oath ceremony in a few weeks.

Tracker updated to Status: Closed I'm assuming this means my certificate has been sent out so I'll be stalking the mailman for the next few days!

Yesterday I checked the tracker, all sections have been updated to " completed " except the Oath ceremony " Not Started ".

I checked also Ecas, it says " Decision made "

Time line :

Application : 18 January 21
AOR : 17 March 21
Background verification : 3 June 21
Exam : 12 April 22
All completed (except Oath) : 25 April 22

Do you know how long it will take to receive the invitation?

Congrats on getting decision made! Timing really depends. Some get oath quickly after DM. Others wait months. It's really hard to predict when you'll receive oath, but hopefully in the next couple of months!

What city did you apply from? Or what office is processing your application?
What it a single application or a family application?
Your application was delivered on Jan 18, 2021? What day did you mail it?
What is your in process date on ECAS? (I suspect it is around May 30, as it is normally several days before the background check is completed).
What date did you first receive your test invite?

I've checked my citizenship application status on CIC website and it said "decision made". hopefully they sent out oath invite soon

I sent the application (paper) on Jan 18, 2021 - They received it on Jan 21, 2021
They started processing my application on August 23, 2021
I received the test invite on March 8, 2022

Oh, a fellow Ottawa applicant! Welcome! We are also in Ottawa. (You can check who is actually processing your application by the email that you received for test invite. Our invitation was from IRCC.OttawaCITScheduling-PlanificationCITOttawa.IRCC@cic.gc.ca. Hope that helps!) That is really quick from completing your test to getting decision made. Did you request urgent processing?! We completed the citizenship test on Apr 3rd, but don't have DM yet. But that gives me hope that you got DM so quickly!

Congrats on getting decision made. I noticed that you have posted in both the May 2021 and the January 2021 forums. Was your application submitted online and/or received in the mail by IRCC in January 2021? Or May 2021?

If it was received by IRCC in January 2021, then please share you timeline and I'll add you to the tracker.

Thank you, yes I received the email from the same address so it is the Ottawa office.

No, I didn't ask for urgent treatment, I thought it was taking too long, but when I checked the Excel, I saw that it usually takes around +400 days to complete the process
