No.. it’s not mandatory to receive email.. in gckey, there won’t be any change for ghost updates..

You're supposed to get an email. Maybe you missed it, but you can call ircc and they will tell you.

I can personally attest that the new public policy regarding bio submission is being adhered to. My wife's bio status in GCKey has change to completed as of 19 OCT 2020. She did a TRV bio July 2019 in Vietnam.
