Ok, well I would say to bring home my son, its giving me anxiety. it's been 6 months. Ths longest I've ever lived without him. Not that I cant wait longer, it's more about the certainty and what ifs... what if the borders remain closed until vaccine, what if I get sick or they get sick... it's just crazy! I would stop working and go there and wait it out but they are only allowing people stranded to return. Smh

Agreed! Our gov is not treating Canadian citizens with foreign dependants very well right now. It’s really pissing me off. While the PM tells everyone to stay home and goes to visit his family for Easter.

Ok, no my son is a pr... my husband just applied, they have all they require for him and they updated that they got his medical and dont need anything else. My son went to visit him, I was suppose to go get him but cant because of the whole carona. So I would apply for a trv for my husband to bring my son home as I cant go to Jamaica. On the sight it states that spouses and close family members are exempt from the restrictions. Thanks !
Your chances of getting a TRV for him are very very low. First, the success rate to get a TRV when you have a spousal PR application in process is low. Then getting a TRV now will only be in exceptional circumstances, IMO that means an emergency. How old is your son, can he travel as an unaccompanied minor? That might be an option to look at. But you can still apply for the TRV, just don't have your hopes of success too high. Good luck.

Hi guys, I just had a ghost update and a pre-arrival services letter 4 days ago (I am surprised they are even working still).

Here is our timeline:

App received: 06 January 2020
Biometrics request: 01/30
Biometrics completed: 02/11
Sponsor approval: 01/31
Medical Request: 01/31
Medical Passed: 02/09
Moved to Paris Visa Office: 02/18
Pre-arrival service letter: April 30th 2020
PPR: ???

I know there is a slim chance for further updates anytime soon, but how long you guys think it usually takes between Pre-arrival letter and Passport request?

Hi there,
I just discovered this forum and the google doc, awesome! Thank you for your help.

So for my part, I applied as well to my PR last January:
App received: 20 January 2020 (CPC Sydney)
Biometrics request: 02/13
Biometrics completed: 02/14
Sponsor approval: 02/14
Medical Request: 02/14
Medical Passed: 02/19
Moved to CPC Mississauga : 02/20 - Only my partner (sponsor) got the email saying that my application was transferred there, is it normal??

And since that, I have no news... Everything went really fast at the beginning. I am wondering if it is normal, I know with the actual situation, everything was a bit slower. I am trying to link my application with an account on https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/account.html but it is not working, not sure why (I sent them an email and waiting for an answer). Anybody here that had a problem to link their account with their application? I am wondering if I am missing a paper or something else and that my application is stop.

Also my Permanent Residence Application statu on my CIC account is still on "Application Received", is it normal?

Thanks for your help,
Cheers

Same situation, but I need to submit my Hong Kong police certificate which was delivered on 8/5/2020.
Are you sure you didn’t miss anything?

I don't think so. The only thing that I am a bit scared is that my biometrics is not showing on my CIC account. It is only showing that they received my application, that they sent my medicals instructions and that they received the result but nothing about biometrics. Is it normal or everybody is getting a notice when they done it?

Thanks for your help

As I am sure you know the biometrics are only data collection so it's not like it's a pass or fail thing. It should show up on your page eventually. If the VO didn't get it you would hear from them asking about it. But you can certainly check with VAC where the bios were taken to make sure they were sent, if they are open right now.

I finally linked my application to my account. And my biometrics were well arrived. Thanks you so much for your help and sorry for the messages. They are apparently checking my background at the moment. My estimated remaining processing time is 8 months and hopefully it will be faster than that... But we will, it will probably depend of the situation with the virus.
Thanks for your help :)
Cheers

Anyone waiting for a medical exam in the states, my husband just got a call from his place to book his appointment again. Seems like maybe state by state is loosening these kinds of restrictions. He was asked to come with a face mask on. Just thought I'd say something in case people are waiting for their spouse to be able to do such a thing right now.

He is in the midwest just fyi.

Hi Everyone, just a quick question. I logged into my online application and my progress bar was missing, is anyone else experiencing this?
