My husband read the book once really well and then did many many practice tests, and he got 20/20 on his actual test. It will depend on how well you retain the information. But the practice tests were what was most helpful because when you got a wrong answer it shows you what the answer is and that helps with remembering the information. If you google "practice citizenship tests" you'll find many options.
Which practise test did he do? There's tonnes available on the internet.

What's normally the proportion that got the test invitation w/wo FP request? It seems like most in the thread who got the test invitation went through the FP request.

Hey everyone. Jan 2020 Applicant here. Still no test invite or anything. Is this normal? How do you all cope with this wait that causes unnecessary stress and anxiety to a bunch of us. I am kind of starting to lose hope here....

My husband had request sent to him November 2020 for FP, got his test invite in April- so it was a big amount of time in between when he sent the FP in to the test.

Also Ottawa applicant. My gcms notes show finger prints required. Does your ecas show the update ?
Im also a Jan 2020 applicant - ottawa office. When did you apply in jan and when did your file get into "in-process" status? I am still waiting for FP or test or something lol

It looks like (from the spreadsheet) it can take anywhere from a couple days to a month to get decision made on your file.

I'm less optimistic on this as looking at Oct/Nov-19 applicants - there are candidates at my office who took their test in February and still no further update. I'll take some margin for error on people not posting updates for the spreadsheet, but it looks a total lottery time wise on the decision front. If I'm honest I was lucky to even get the invite so I'm not going to get too greedy!

Hello all, Just noticed today that the fingerprint request I received in Nov 2020 was from the Vancouver office whereas I applied in Ontario and my location is Brampton. Can anyone else confirm which office they received their Fingerprints request. (App Delivered - Jan 24, 2020, AOR - Aug 20, In Process - 19 October, Fingerprint request - 24 Nov)
The email I received FP request was - cic-vancouvercitize@cic.gc.ca
Even the FP request letter mentioned -
"Should you wish to discuss this matter or should you have particular questions, please contact the office at CIC-VancouverCitizenship-Enquiries@cic.gc.ca "
Does this mean my file is in Vancouver office and does it happen often as I expect my file to be in Ontario.
Thanks

Its normal. Vancouver office is one of the offices that sends fingerprint requests. Your application remains at local office.

Well i ordered GCMS notes it says criminality passed. So not sure if they would ask for FP - but could be wrong someone else on here ordered GCMS and his also showed criminality passed and then he got the test invite recently so I am hoping they skip FP and give us the test soon. not sure when it will happen

I think criminality is valid for one year so if there is a near match next year than may be they can request.
