I'm hoping someone will be able to provide some insight on this.

I applied as a single outland applicant and recently got married to a Canadian citizen. I'll be moving with my spouse to Canada next week and I'm worried about how to handle the air crossing. Do I tell them that I intend to make Canada my home eventually and have an in-progress PR application, or do I just say I am visiting for a few months while I wait for a decision? I know about dual intent and understand that I can visit for up to 6 months as a US citizen.

Also I was unsure if I would qualify for any work permit. My understanding is that OWP is only available to inland applicants. I'm thinking my best route is to notify IRCC that I am living inland as a spouse at the same time that I give them my marriage certificate and hope that they process my PR quickly enough that I can apply for jobs soon. Thoughts?

Welcome to Canada and Welcome to marriage life too. I would like to reply in 3 points :
1. Don't worry about how to handle the air crossing because you can simply tell Immigration officer at Canadian airport that you are visiting the country before getting your PR.
2. Yes, you are qualified for an open work permit (please see this https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=177&top=17)
3. You must notify IRCC (for your PR application) that your marital status has been changed. Please refer to part Update your application / change other information in this link https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=052&top=3

thank you for the detailed response! yes, I definitely plan to inform IRCC of my marital status as soon as possible. my webform will also inform them that I'm living inland, in hopes that they will finalize my application since I won't have to travel anymore

Hi Guys,
Request your insight on the following:

Once all background processes including security are completed/valid (confirmed through web form and IRCC call center), does the local VO call employers to verify further before the final decision?

One of my employers has moved to a different city with a new contact number hence I was wondering whether I should update his new details via a web form.
Inputs and time highly appreciated!

Hi - I am PNP outland with below status as of 03 June -

Eligibility- met
The background verifications are in process.
Application is currently being processed at the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) in Sydney, Nova Scotia

hi there. whats your noc? any update from your webfrm or have you ordered gcms notes? tnx
My Noc is 1122
I called IRCC on Friday and they told me that I still have the same status.
I was also told that security does not change to become in progress but it goes directly from not initiated to valid.

I ordered my GCMS notes also last week so I do not expect to receive them before then end of the month.
