I used the June 2018 checklist as well! I didn't even realize there was an updated version!

I found out about new checklist 2-3 days ago from one the the threads here. It isnt a big difference but still cic can do anything and we cant fight it.

Oh no :( one more thing to worry about. They make it so tricky to even download the forms off the cic website! So many people have issues with it.

Hi everyone
I received an e-mail with my UCI number today. No AOR. My spouse (PA)recieved an e-mail that he must submit another police certificate from his country which he didn’t even reside in accept for 4 years for university. Bummer

Btw I’m a bit confused as to what is an AOR . Haha! On cic it says it’s the e-mail that has your UCI. So technically I got it or what? Also I was able to view the status of the application online using the UCI.
A clarification is appreciated. Thanks!

Did your spouse’s stay in the said country for uni fall into either of these categories.
(Is his current country of residence for more than 6 months)
Or
(Since the age of 18 stayed most of his life in that country where he studied)

Nope
- it is not his current country of residence. The last time he’s lived there was back in 2010.
- since the age of 18 he stayed most of his life in Saudi Arabia ( from 18-22- Jordan for uni and 22 up until now 31 -Saudi Arabia).
Anyway that’s how we understood the checklist requirement when we read it. We may have misunderstood it.
Thanks Krissh2179

Thats exactly what it should have been. Earlier they used to specify any country where u lived for more than 6 months. Maybe they just ask PCC’s for those countries where they cant directly approach the concerned authorities. You can link your application though which is a good sign.

Yea I hope it doesn’t get too delayed. I hope everyone here get their application processed smoothly.
Thanks for following up Krissh2179
Btw can anyone give me a clarification of what AOR really means?

Acknowledgment of Receipt. Which means ur application is in order amd they are are not returning it for missing documents or signatures. And it also means that the process has started.

Sure
The e-mail has the UCI and file number. It also says that this is a confirmation that CIC has recieved the application to sponsor my spouse on Jan 2, 2019. That’s about it.
My spouse recieved an e-mail proving his UCI and file number ( which is the same for both of us) and additional info is required. They state :
“This refers to your application for permanent residence under the Family Class. In order for us to continue processing your application, please submit the following document(s):”
Police Certificates (Multiple): Please submit a police certificate from Jordan. Please refer to the IRCC website (How To Get a Police Certificate) for complete instructions.
That’s about it.

Yes, that's an AOR for you, for sure.

So given that I recieved this e-mail . This e-mail is technically the AOR?
Sorry I might be sounding like I’m just paranoid at this moment. Bear with me if you may
