Visa end date is same as your medical end date. If your medical is extended, then it is possible to have end date almost an year away.
I got my visa with Sept 2020 as end date, I had sent my passport in Nov.
How do we extend the medical? Do we need to request IRCC? My medical is expiring on Jan 30th.

Great! That gives me some hope. I am still waiting for passport to come back and if I actually have until October 2020 to land then that makes things way more easier for me. Thanks for your reply.

Massive congratulations to folks who've received this since I last checked in, @yiso91 , @Shahanastar , @Pura Vida , @AKINYEMZY and so many others! Hang in there @WunmiofLagos and a few other stragglers :), it will come...

Landed in Halifax on the 20th and been enjoying this winter that everyone seems so afraid of. Beautiful city with awesome views of the Atlantic. PR cards have been mailed and are on the way over. Have SIN cards and health cards, and next on the list is a drivers license. Have a Costco card and a nice winter jacket, and bought some sweet winter boots on Black Friday sale.

Trip here, with a 2 year old, was looooonnnngggggg..... Going through immigration in Montreal was looonnngggggg.... But everything was smooth, and the border control fellow was a gentleman.

Hang in there guys.

Where are you staying in Canada (accommodation)? I heard we cannot sign a lease without an employment letter.

Same shoes as me , I had this happening yesterday and to my knowledge it means that they finalized everything and are now ready to send a passport request which should come in no time (3-5 days at most )

Regards,,,

Did you get any update on this?
I am still waiting for mine. There is no update in my case

How much time did it take for CoPR after your medical was extended?
Well I didn't know my medical was extended until the CoPR arrived. I guess if they don't issue remed, then one can safely assume that medicals are extended. I got the CoPR within 10 days of submitting the passport..

You first are issued a passport request which is only done after your medical is extended or after your re-medical test results are approved by the medical branch inside IRCC. Then after your passports are handed-over to the LVO, it can take anywhere between few days to few weeks depending on the visa office you are closest to as well as their current workload, staffing numbers as well as if photos sent are matching specifications or require re-sending.

You seem to be integrating fast enough before heavy Halifax winter kicks in .. otherwise you will be like a sitting duck only going out to do a job search or any other essential task.

Am happy for you and others whom have done their landing already.

Enjoy it man, you earned it
Regards

I'm @ an airbnb/serviced apartment looking for housing at a relaxed pace. I've given myself until end of Feb. Credit history is an issue with housing certainly, but this is the first I've heard about needing an employment letter (and my employment status is complicated anyway, I've been retained by an overseas employer). Some landlords like immigrants, because we pay on time, and some immigrants are able to do postdated cheques for a year in advance to offset the risk of late payment...
