A question for those who have got their COPR.

I’ve sent my passports from US to Ottawa for stamping along with a FedEx return label. How will I know when the application is approved ? Also, I got the PPR email but when I log into my account it still says we are processing your application blah blah blah.... is that the same for everyone ?

Thanks,
Application gets approved in the account after visa andCOPR are printed . You get a email a day after approval... When you send, please take a note of return envelope tracking number

I don't doubt it. But if that's the case, then the whole process is such incredible BS.. they're supposed to control how many people they take in when they decide how many ITAs they're issuing, not at the very end after the long wait, just before issuing PPRs..
That's like paying for a movie ticket and the theatre decides which show date/time is convenient for them to invite you. Can't they control that when issuing the damn tickets !?

Sorry.. just part 2 of the rant here..
If they jave limits why ppl who applied later get ppr first? It should be in sequence at least... The process is in shambles

That's exactly the problem.. Them contacting us potentially months later doesn't help anyone. They should accept our inclination to resolve the situation (in this case, the medicals) when we proactively try to get things sorted, instead of making us wait indefinitely! I really, REALLY detest how IRCC goes about some things..

Yeah, as long as they do SOMETHING, that would be great.. Seems like there's plenty of time between your application approval and your medical expiry. Yet they want to just sit on an APPROVED application.. It's nuts!

.. Sorry, just needed to rant and vent a bit! Two steps from the finish line now and IRCC wants to call a timeout.. *sigh*
I know! Just today, I received an email from Ottawa visa office in response to one I sent a couple of days ago, asking them to confirm the status of my application because based on ecas a decision has been made and from calls to cic agents say it has been approved on Oct 1st. The agent responded saying that they will return my passport when the process is complete and follow the tracking number they sent. I have not even sent them our passports yet. I emailed them scanned copies of our RENEWED PASSPORTS early in October and not the originals. Even they are confused! It is frustrating!!

I believe it's because of numbers. Each visa office is only given a certain amount of deliverable ppr's.. So they sit on approved applications or delay others.
Is this really the case? Then why do they choose to send pprs to those which timelines have not passed the 6mos processing ang choose to sit on ours with almost 10mos in the wait.

i think you all have to understand that all applications are unique. All of them have different complexities , some are easy to process *( no travel etc, from US , AUS countries where the checks are easy etc) , they are processed sooner, also family application have more members and all have to be cleared, thus u cannot blame ircc for all these vagaries, thanks

Yesterday my status on ECAS changed from IP to AR.

Can any one please explain what it means? If it it transferred to LVO, would be the VO of my place of residence? What should I expect?

Thanks a lot!!

No problem about that. They can take as long as they want. Our problem is that our application has been approved since Oct 1st and we are waiting for the ppr email to be sent. They are sitting on approved applications.

whats your VO , i know sidney is the slowest, also most of the VOs are understaffed , so its just that you have to do something to kick of the file. Did u raise a webform or GCMS notes, i plan to do the same next week if i dont get the PPR mail. Sometime its just that i would say our karma take over :)

I do not work for IRCC nor do I know their protocols, it is however something I read from a senior visa officer's reply here is the link (first answer): https://www.quora.com/Why-is-CIC-so-slow-and-what-are-their-employees-doing-all-day

Now, as to why they accept some while delaying others I simply believe that they do not use the first in first out principle. Officers while tackle some cases while leaving others regardless of AOR but that's just a guess. In any case, it is very frustrating for us I agree.

In this link above , he mentioned this "Visa applicants do not always understand that immigration visas are subject to rationing by the annual immigration levels system. CIC has to allocate resources to each visa office according to the contribution that office is expected to make to the annual level. A given visa office is only expected, or allowed, to issue a certain number of immigration visas per year. They are not allowed to issue as many visas as they can. At times they must delay or stop processing certain categories of visas." ...

if its really the case its scary :(

Now, that's just a system that CELEBRATES incompetence..

Seriously, for the rest of us working in the private sector.. how often do you hear your boss telling you DO EXACTLY THIS MUCH WORK AND NOT MORE !?
Just imagine how incredible IRCC could be if it were privately run.. 'tis just a fantasy though!
