So ECAS changed to "decision made" this morning but MyCIC is still the same (BC not applicable, final decision saying app is in progress and we will let you know... and no letter in the message box). We got the "procedural fairness" letter a little over a month ago because they did not have proof of marriage (I suspect they lost our marriage certificate, so I sent it ASAP with an explanatory letter, and additional documents changed to "under review" about two weeks later), so this is NOT a clear case of DM = approved for us. Although there are no red flags on our application and I see no reason for a rejection, I am terrified and won't feel better until I find out what the decision is. I really hope that info follows soon, I'm going crazy here!

Nothing will change on MyCIC until they issue the CoPR. Watch your email for the passport request.

Thanks! I thought maybe the passport request (or a rejection) would be a letter that appears in the 'application message' box, which is why I keep checking MyCIC. But it could be just an email. Hoping to get something soon.

It comes as an email. Can take anywhere from 5 days to two weeks, so don't worry too much if you don't hear anything straight away.

My background chage from not applicable to we are processing your background check.fingers crossed. Anyone had had a DM shortly after bc in progress? Tnks

Our PPR came as a message in LuCID, closely followed by an e-mail. MyCiC still shows the status of our application as though they are reviewing the application to see if we are eligible. As other people have noted, that will likely change once the CoPR is issued.

Keep checking your email, but check MyCiC as well. We had to go into the application to see the PPR message specifically for the application

Did they ask you to send your passport yet?

My case.. the background check is still in process, however one month ago, they requested my passport... and since we sent it.. DEAD SILENCE.. and ZERO changes in any updates.

No PPR yet, im so anxious.

I check my wife's email a few minutes ago and got a strange email.

Email was from Manila Immigration. Visa Section, Embassy of Canada in the Philippines

Title was "
Get help before arriving in Canada – FREE Pre-arrival services funded by the Government of Canada"

It had our file # and UCI #. It said, she was "You are eligible to register for pre-arrival services".

It talks about adjusting to life in Canada, finding jobs in Canada and accessing other free services when in Canada.

So, good to see that email BUT, I have been checking Ecas and CIC daily and have not seen any updates as of yet.

Does anyone know what that email means?

Thanks! :-)

I posted this in a separate thread but it looks like there's more traffic here, I hope that's okay :)

Hello All, I just found this forum and hope there is someone who can help me with my situation.

I am an American, my husband is Canadian and we married 3 years ago. I lived in Canada from August 2014 thru April 2017, and was under the impression I had "implied status". We had always planned on doing an inland application but the money prevented us and we kept putting it off. This April I was researching implied status and realized I made a huge mistake staying there that long without leaving/returning every 6 months.

I was never issued a leave order or anything like that, I left on my own accord. I am now living in the US, have a job here (I never worked in Canada) and plan on doing Outland immigration soon.

I have a flight booked (and a return flight booked) to return to Canada to visit my husband and complete our application package in July, what are my chances of being refused entry based on my overstay? I am worried sick about this. I'm so afraid I will be denied entry!
Can anybody offer their experience if you've had a similar situation? It would be much appreciated :) Thanks in advance

Hi everyone am new here. My application was sent on the 26 of June and received on the 27.could you guys add me to the thread plz.

My status on ECAS also changed to "Decision Made" yesterday!!

Here is my rough timeline. I used the new application forms, did not send medical/schedule A/police certificate upfront, and also had to submit for a CSQ from Quebec's MIDI.

  • Application Received - 01/06/2017
  • AOR1 - 01/24/2017
  • Request for Schedule A/Police Records - 01/24/2017
  • Schedule A/Police Records Sent - 02/04/2017
  • Sponsorship Approval - 01/31/2017
  • Application Forwarded to Ottawa VO - 02/17/2017
  • ECAS Status "In Process" - 02/17/2017 ??
  • CSQ Application Received - 02/17/2017
  • CSQ AOR - 02/27/2017
  • Request for Medical Exam - 03/23/2017
  • Received Request for CSQ from Ottawa VO - 03/27/2017 (I found this unusual, since MIDI told us that all VO were aware of the current delay and knew that our CSQ application was being processed)
  • Received Second Message from Mississauga Notifying that Application Forwarded to Ottawa VO - 04/03/2017 (Also unusual?)
  • Received CSQ - 04/04/2017 (Date on the document: 03/30/2017)
  • Completed Medical Exam - 04/11/2017
  • Medical Exam Passed - 05/05/2017
  • ECAS Status "Decision Made" - 06/02/2017
Since May, there had been no other changes or messages: my account still says they're reviewing my eligibility, processing the background check, etc. The only change was in ECAS (looking up under both my (PA) and my husband's (Sponsor) information).
I would like to know where r u staying? R u came with QSW?do u joined for job for doing sponsorship
