Hi everyone what does IP2 and BG2 change mean?

I've never heard those acronyms, where are you seeing them? I would be inclined to think In Process and Background Check though..

We just recieved a third line on ECAS what does this mean? It shows we receieved your application on March 15 2017. We started processing your application on May 16th. Medical results receieved. Up until yesterday it didnt show that it was being processed. About how long do you think it will take to recieve PPR after this stage?

You should get a notice of what VO it's being sent to - where are you from/what country applying from?

We got an email from CIC April 24 that our file was being transferred to Mexico. Our country is Dominican Republic. But i believe i have read in other forums that once you get third line in ECAS that you are almost done the process. I hope thats what's happening!

If you submitted your passport direct to the embassy, how does the embassy notify us that they already put the VISA stamp on our passport? Do they usually email?

We got an email from CIC April 24 that our file was being transferred to Mexico. Our country is Dominican Republic. But i believe i have read in other forums that once you get third line in ECAS that you are almost done the process. I hope thats what's happening!

Did you send your Police certificates upfront? where did you read about the third line??? Usually after they send you AOR2 its a waiting time of 1-2 months and they request more documents like PCC or Medicals (if not sent upfront) others are asked for updated form like schedule A. I don't know where you get that from the third line and almost done but i guess it depends on each case.

You have to send the passport to the Embassy and they will return the passport with the visa on it along with CORP. You have to send it through a prepaid courier tho, they don't notify you with an email or anything you just get the passport back.

Quick update guys in my CIC for me , Jan 11 application.

Medical now says --> passed.
Background now says -- We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.

When did you do ur medicals? Did it update immidiately after u finish medical?

That is great! Your app process is moving really fast! I don't know if seeing the third line means you are almost done, but I think it depends on your case. If they don't need any more relationship evidence (eligibility check) , police reports and medical exams, etc, nor an interview you are going to be done sooner rather than later. I am hoping that with the recent changes in how they have been processing the BGC, (by having them start the check in Mississauga), maybe it will speed up the whole process. I guess we will find out in the next few months!

A little update on my application.

App filed Jan 16th 2017.
Last communication from CIC was Feb 20th, when Schedule A, PCC and IMM5546 was requested. Uploaded them all the next day, Feb 21st, to myCIC account. ECAS still only says Application received and Medicals passed (since March 3rd). Only change is that now the system seems to have lost my first name, so I'm applicant null Blom
myCIC account says the same since I linked my application in mid February, We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
I have no idea if my application is in Missisauga, Ottawa, London or elsewhere, never received a note as to where my application was being sent after sponsor approval, which came Feb 16th.

I ordered GCMS notes at the end of april, so hopefully I'll get those next week and know a bit more about what's happening with my application.
A bit frustrating not knowing what's happening, but I guess all I can do is sit tight and just wait. Hoping to have everything ready before schools start in September to get the kids in school at the beginning of the school year. We're also going for holidays to Canada for 4 weeks in July to visit the inlaws and friends and I have a bunch of job interviews lined up in Vancouver, Victoria and Abbotsford, would be great if I could give any presumptive employer an exact date when I could start.

They mailed last 7 th march about sponsership approval. Till no mail, no update in ECAS.

Hi all,

I finally heard something from CIC, just not what I expected. My husband's application (I am the sponsor) has been processing since February 25, by the Nairobi VO. I received a message alert from My CIC this morning, which turned out to be a letter addressed to my husband. It said that it appears he may not meet the requirements for immigration to Canada because our "marriage ceremony" (Islamic nikah) was conducted in Canada without his presence, therefore we are not married under Canadian law, because Canada does not recognize Islamic nikah as marriage (nor does it recognize marriage by proxy). They are giving us 30 days to provide more information otherwise, they say, they will make a decision based on what they have, "which may result in the refusal of your application."

Anyway, I know all of this - we were married in the faith tradition for *us*, and I included those documents not as proof of marriage but as proof of relationship. We ARE married legally in Ethiopia, in a marriage recognized under Canadian law. Our application included our marriage certificate from Ethiopia, its English translation and an affidavit for the translation.

I don't understand how the immigration officer missed this, it just makes no sense. We had an extremely well organized application package, including a table of contents that referred to all the documents included! I'm thinking to respond with an explanatory letter, and attaching the marriage certificate for reference. What do you guys think of the situation?

Im a January 31st applicant. My file has beed transferred to London VO on March 14. Still no request to submit Schedule A or Medical. I called cic so many times but they keep saying that my file is in london now. I emailed London vo 1 month ago and no reply from them (it was mentioned in the automatic email that I will get my reply in 28 days) I dont really know what is going on with my application. Im so disappointed Please someone help me.
