I would call CIC if I were you. They received my app on Jan 25 and I have not heard anything either and can't link my application nor check through ECAS.

I am sponsoring my common-law spouse from Chile.

Hope we both hear something soon!

Yeah sure hope so. I have called CIC multiple times and everytime i call them, it says they are experiencing a high volume of calls and to call back later. So i just sent a case specific inquiry today so lets see what they say.

And i havent been able to link my application yet. I have tried every single combination i could think of and still no luck :(.

Hey guys. Still no AOR1 yet application received jan 5. Anybody else in the same boat?

Also anyone sponsering a spouse from Pakistan?

Yeah I'm sponsoring from Pakistan. You should've heard back from CIC by now. If you received no reply and you can't link any accounts either, you should really call them.

Hi Guys,

My application was received on 31st January. Sent on 20th January from Toronto. It was "Canada post" had taken 10 days to deliver the package to CPC- Mississauga! They delivered but I had to contact them(Canada Post) many times almost every day. Hope, nobody would face this kinda harassment. At last got the news! Today got AOR1! Thanks to Canada Post at least you delivered by the deadline.

There should be a warning on this forum to avoid Canada Post for important documents. Most unreliable service in the industry.

Many of us have used Canada Post without issue. We sent ours via Canada Post (2 day delivery, on time), and sent the documents requested in the PPR e-mail via Canada Post (overnight, on time). Any delivery service can have issues.

We also sent our application package through Canada Post and we just used the regular snail mail. I wish that the person working on my sponsor app was as fast as Canada Post! ;D

hello please i need some answer, i am here in canada sponsoring my husband who is in the philippines, i just got a letter yesterday from immigration telling me that i am ineligible to sponsor my husband because i did not put him as a family member when i became a PR but we just got married. and now they are processing the permanent residence application. is there a chance that my husband can be approve to become a PR even if i am already refused to be a sponsor?

Did you live together for a year before you landed as PR?

Hello guys,
My application was received on Jan27. I got AOR1 on Feb 16 and I was able to link the application thanks to the tricks mentioned earlier in this thread. I uploaded schedule A and now I am waiting.

Good luck for every one

By the way I am not able to use ecas to check the application status though I was able to link the application, any thoughts?

I guess you're right that all services experience issues, but I've had more issues with Canada Post compared to other couriers, even with their advance options (i.e. not being able to track a supposedly trackable item). But I guess people are more likely to discuss their negative experiences rather their positive ones.

My ap was received on the 25th of Jan and I got AOR1 on Feb. 16th, too, I think it was. However, I could find my ap on ECAS, but I haven't been able to link anything yet, so in the opposite situation as you, lol.

Hi People,

I am Canadian PR about to sponsor my wife.
My wife is working and she took two months vacation for our wedding. She is living at my parental home and will join her duties in Delhi on 1st March now. We are about to apply for sponsorship application within this week. But, I am confused about her current address in background declaration form. Right now, she does not have any rented accommodation as she left the one she was renting before going on vacation. Should we wait for her to go to Delhi, find a new rented apartment and use that as current address or can we use any acquaintance's address?

Please advice.

JenTex, what information did you use? I assume you went the "Family Name, Given Name and Date of Birth" route

* Did you include a middle name with your given name?
* Did you enter your actual City of birth or just a space?
* Marrital status = married?
* Number of family members = 2? or 1?

Just tried mine with several combinations of the above, still no luck :( but will try again next week haha

Yes that is the option I went with. I included first and middle name. Space for city of birth. Married. 2. My spouse actually got AOR email yesterday morning and later I got email to link my app, which I had already done before we got the emails.
