It's a tricky thing linking that application. It took me a long time. Don't get discouraged. Many folks have trouble with it. This is the info that seems to be the most successful.

Place of Birth (click the box as if you're going to type something and hit the space bar once, leave the box blank)
Country (PA)
Where you will reside (sponsor's town and province)
Number of People (2 worked for me - myself and my husband)

Since I managed to link our application to my account -The sponsor not the PA- and now that CIC asked us to send in police certificates of my husband, can I send it through my account since we both received the same application number? or it has to be his account?

My application was received on Jan 31 no Aor yet. I tried to open account with cic but i keep getting a message that no application was found. I don't whats going on

Don't worry--mine was received Jan.25th, and still no reply yet.

Muahaha guys I finally got AOR1 this morning!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D Application received Jan. 25th and AOR1 Feb. 16th.

Yes I have received it on the 6th of Feb.. Which is so annoying cause I just got to link it today - Plus it says they still didn't start processing my application so I don't understand if I'm going to be getting SA anytime soon :S

I tried this trick too today and it didn't work for me. I've only been trying since the first of January. I'm guessing I should just face it that it's not doing to work and save my sanity everyday and just be satisfied with ecas

Did they email you about police certificates yet? That's kinda of a sign that you should be able to link or not.. No?

9 days are AOR1 .. no sign of SA.

15 days after AOR1... no SA yet. what is your review of eligibility in CIC? mine "Not Started" and ecas shows both(SA & PA) In Progress

We did medical and police certificates upfront. They sent us mail (Canada post) to let us know they received app and about SA approval and our file was transferred all in January.
Am able to check Ecas since January 20. Hubby got letter saying to use mycic dated January 17 but still can't link.

I've been checking ECAs and saw that decision was made re: my spousal sponsorship last Friday... No today I see they sent me correspondence regarding their decision. I have not received an email and neither did my husband, so assume they've sent it via post. Did you include your email in your application? I'm worried why they didn't just email us...

I included our emails but for some reason they didn't use it. January 20 I was finally able to check Ecas and it said decision made under sponsor. On Feb 2 I got the letter in the mail saying I was approved as a sponsor and my file was transferred to the Visa Office. The letter was dated Jan 20 and was post dated on envelope Jan 27. Now under PA it shows "in process" but it has never showed they actually sent me correspondence.
