No you don't need a clearance from Canada.Raj_Hoque said:One short question: I have never been out of Canada for more than 30 days altogether since last 4 years...do I need to provide Police Certificate from Canada?
Thanks Rigly68. One more short question came to my mind. I found in Minor Document Checklist that they need photocopies of 2 pieces of personal identification one of which must have a photo. What I thought of sending are PR Card copy and SIN card. Now it is required to send PR card copy which is stated at the beginning of the checklist...so do I need to send 2 set of photo copies of PR card or 1 set of photocopy will furnish both the requirement?Rigly68 said:No you don't need a clearance from Canada.
How old is your child? Not sure if you can use the SIN card as the identification used should show the name and date of birth of child. Do you have a passport for your child?Raj_Hoque said:Thanks Rigly68. One more short question came to my mind. My daughter in 9 and 1/2. Passport is valid and available but someone told me it should be good to send PR card and SIN card. Someone said Medicare but not sure which one would be good. Medicare card has date of birth.Rigly68 said:How old is your child? Not sure if you can use the SIN card as the identification used should show the name and date of birth of child. According to the guide SIN card is not acceptable piece of identification.Raj_Hoque said:My daughter in 9 and 1/2. Hi Raj, Below is from the guidelines set by CIC for acceptable Identification.Jusia said:According to the guide SIN card is not acceptable piece of identification.
Refer to the guide for minors- they even give examples of pieces of identification.

4. Two (2) pieces of personal identification
Both pieces of identification should show your name and date of birth, one of which must have your photo on it.
Examples include:
a Canadian driver’s licence
a Canadian health insurance card
a copy of the biographical page of your passport/travel document, etc.
If there is information on both sides of your personal identification documents, provide a photocopy of both sides.
Note: Social Insurance Number (SIN) cards, bank cards and credit cards are not acceptable pieces of identification.
Format: Clear and legible photocopy.
