No, it depends on the visa-office and if the person is visa-exempt. I know Ottawa rarely sends a PPR for visa-exempt applicants (at least the American ones).

Great thanks. We are actually applying from Germany (my partner is German, I'm Canadian), but got forwarded to the Ottawa office. I'm assuming he's visa exempt.. but got a bit worried reading about all these people who have had PPR because we have travel plans coming up. Oh well, fingers crossed!

Yes, he should be visa-exempt. I doubt he will get PPR from Ottawa.

No problem ;D. Good luck with your application. Ottawa has been very fast lately.

Thank you and same to you! :)

Yah I've noticed they are quick! Unfortunately my partner's PR application is going very slowly in comparison to most of the others. Not sure what to do except wait and try not to worry 8) hehe

No problem and thank you ;D. Your application was probably stuck in a backlog for a bit, plus criminality/security checks take less time for Americans because of the information sharing system between Can-US. The applications didn't start really speeding up until around February (although I noticed they were slowly starting to speed up little by little months before).

Have you ordered notes? This will tell you how much of your application they have processed so far. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp

If I had to guess, yours should be done any day now.

Actually I have a question about the notes! Do you know.. If I apply, will it only give information about me and my application to be a sponsor? Or will it have information about my partner's application for PR too? I assume I can't apply for notes for him directly since he's not Canadian, a PR or currently IN Canada... ?
