My wife and I submitted our outland application on the 4th of January and it came back today on us. My wife is living with me here in Canada as a visitor and we submitted the form listing her mailing address as in Canada. Today we received the application back with a statement highlighted saying:

"A correction to the mailing address specified on the Generic Application Form to Canada (IMM0008) to reflect the mailing address of the Principal Applicant; or, if the Principal Applicant wishes to have correspondence mailed to the address specified, a complete and signed Use of a Representative form (IMM5476) is required for the authorization of release of documents and information to the individual residing at this address"

Has anyone had a similar experience? How was it resolved?

Thank you

Is your wife's mailing address the same as her residential address?

Hey! I got my application returned today, for the exact same reason!

Should we then put our spouses' Indian mailing address and resend the app?

I called CIC and they told me the application it was good. They did not understand why they sent it back.
They recommended my wife to fill out the representative form and submit it again with the whole application and a cover letter explaining that her mailing and residence addresses are the same due to she is living here (in Canada) with me as a visitor.

Yes it is.

I am curious as to why you have to sign the use of representative form? Do we need to send this signed even if we do not use a representative?? I am worried my application will be sent back due to me having my mailing address different then my residing address. Doesn't make sense to me.

I'm also wondering the same thing. My wife and I receive mail to our places of employment (which are both different) and not to our residential address as that's how mail is sent here. Would this be an issue? Our mailing addresses are different to our residential address but that's just because that's how it is, there's absolutely no representative that we're using.

This address thing is worrying me. My common-law partner and I both have the same address on our application as he is in Canada now on a work permit and we are living together.. I hope they don't send back our application asking for use of a representative form! :-X

Hoping our AORs come soon! It seems that they are nearing the end of the month for December applicants according to their spreadsheet.

Hello all,

My application filed in mid Jan 2016 was returned yesterday due to some issues with sponsored applicant's mailing address.

I've rectified that and just re-sent the application by UPS courier today (11 February). Should reach Mississauga by tomorrow, 12 February *fingers crossed*

Cheers!

I don't get why people would have to sign the use of representative form if you do not use a representative.

Can someone please tell me how I get my information on the January 2016 spreadsheet?? Thank you

Yep! I got it on there! Thank you!

Wow, this is nerve wracking! I put my address in Mexico and if they try to send the application back here, who knows if it will ever come. International mail takes months if it even arrives..... :( Does anyone know if they send anything else, like an email perhaps saying they are returning it?

Uuuuuggggghhhhhhhhhhh

That is exactly why I put my Canadian address because I was worried if they send the application back and I had my Mexico address I would never see the package again as where I live they literally throw the mail on the street!!!! Now from reading everything apparently having two different addresses listed will cause them to send your application back which I think is complete bullshit. On the form they ask if if you mailing address is different then residential so I put NO because all my mail I always get sent to Canada. I think it is sooooo unfair how applications are being returned because of this!!! Why even bother to ask on the form and give us the option of writing 2addrrsses. Sorry but this really really makes me so angry! I will be so mad if I have to fly home to Canada just to fix change my mailing address to my residential so things "match up" even though they ask you on the form of it is different.....beyond mad....Rant over.
