new updated processing time for sponsor is 57 days. ours is at 59 days so I gave CIC a call to check the status and was confirmed that the SA was sent out in the mail yesterday and I should receive it by next week. file will be transferred to VO! so relieved to find out.

Hi,

I am Canadian Citizen and I have sponsored my wife who is US citizen under family class. The application package was recieved by CIC on 18-Jan-2016.

I got an email confirmation on 01-Mar-2016 that application to sponsor a member of the family class has been received by CIC on 2016/01/18.

I also checked ecas and it states "We received your application for permanent residence on January 18, 2016."

Can someone give me an idea about what are the next steps and how long would it take? Is it faster for US Citizens than the normal timeline?

US applications usually take between 4-6 months

Hello everyone!

We applied for common-law partner on Jan/23/2016.

AOR1 received today! They received our application on Jan/25/16.

I am scared that we got something wrong. It was so confusing the dates regarding entering the common-law relationship. I still don't know if I should have put the day in which we moved in or the 1 year anniversary (when they consider a common-law relationship). Anyways, just praying that won't be a problem.

Also, we are getting married this summer, after 2 years living as common-law. I hope that this helps too.
