Just wanted to say that I finally got a DM on the account, I'll be checking the mail daily!

Congratulations on the DM! Somehow it still doesn't get any less stressful until you have that paper in your hands. My partner finally got his PR card this week and his driver's license (there were complications on his U.S. license) and his health card came the same day as well, so everything finally seems settled. He landed on April 13.

The only thing he is waiting for is free full-time French classes from the Quebec government. They have accepted his application to enrol, but it depends on whether there is room in the session that starts around the end of August whether he starts then or not.

Thanks BeShoo! Yeah, I agree re: paper in hand. I was able to confirm with the call centre that my papers were sent out yesterday and I had been approved. So at least I know that! :) Great to hear about the PR card! No more having to interact with immigration here for several years at least! :)

I thought we were close to applying in January 2010, but it kept getting delayed while we tried to gather material for the "perfect" application and we didn't finally send it until January, 2014, so it took us forever. It's still hard to believe that it's finally complete. CIC causes a lot of stress.

We did the same but started gathering documents in late 2011. I remember setting up everything for Buffalo and then it closed.

We were going to do a "conjugal partnership" application, but we took so long we became common-law and had to re-do a bunch of stuff, then more things happened. I will write it all out eventually and post it here.
