COPR = Confirmation of Permanent Residence (it's a document that confirms your status as a permanent resident. Keep it in a safe place because you will need when you apply for citizenship and your pension).

There was no interview..... What's a COPR? Sorry I don't know all the terms of the website!

Got my passport with visa today.it takes 12 days after dm.thank you all for your supports.


Heres my timeline
January 20,2014 recieved application
Feb.18,2014 sponsor approved
July 9 sent passport
Aug.7 decision made
Aug.19 2014 recieved passport with visa

Are they sending email when there is DM or I have to frantically check ecas every 12 hours?

Hi edgehead, in my case, I didn't receive email from visa office prior DM. Call me crazy but that's what I did after in process stage ... checking my ECAS everyday, several times a day . Soon you will receive your visa, just be patient. God bless

Our status is now "In Process" too. Said they started processing it on August 11th. This can't be the first time they're looking at it, is it (ie they've already determined if anything was missing, asked for additional docs)? Anyone know what they'd be doing now...final once over before sending approval I hope?!

I would like to thank everyone for their help and support. This forum is special. Other forums I've been on seem to always have trolls everywhere. I've found this forum site truly unique and everyone is so helpful and genuine. Literally, without the help of you all, I would have been lost!

I got today the set of GCMS notes for the applicant.
I was very glad to see that my wife passed the medical without problem. The doctor said she might have traces of tuberculosis but looks like CIC doctors are not of the same opinion.
The very best part of the 29 pages document is the notes part. The officer left the following note the day of PPR:
"INITIAL REVIEW Married within last 2 years. No eligible deps. Valid marriage. ID sufficiently established. Nothing to flag at this time. Meds passed. No adverse FOSS record. NBI + other required policerts - clean."
Looks good and positive to me. I dont think they will request interview.

Hi guelphon, it's ok if you would not request for GCMS notes since it's not required. My hubby requested for it more than a month ago .... I already got my visa and to date, we still haven't received the notes yet

Just checked ECAS and noticed a decision has been made on the permanent resident application (updated overnight August 14th)

We received XXXX application for permanent residence on January 27, 2014.

We started processing XXX application on May 15, 2014.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on XXX application. The office will contact XXX concerning this decision.

My spouse received her passport last night (Aug 25th), we'll be doing flag-poling this weekend at Qeenston Lewiston. CIC Beijing did not use the DHL waybill we provided when applied, so there is no way for us to track the package, nonetheless it arrived safely last night ;D Another pleasant surprise was we did not actually have to pay the return courier bill, thanks CIC!

Can you please tell me which courier service CIC used to send the passport back to you? Also, did the delivery person ask for your signature?
