How EXACTLY is everyone receiving their AOR's? like I mean, the method?

Email (we wrote this in our applications for preferred correspondence), or letters?

Like, what should I be looking for and from who? Does it say "AOR" or something in the subject heading?

Thanks!

I got mine yesterday, you should be getting yours soon I think. I got an email from Citizenship & Immigration. You can't miss it when you see it!

The AOR email will have this subject line: "Citizenship and Immigration Canada: Information about F000XXXXXX (this is the file number they will assign you)
It will have the following text:
"UCI: XXXXXXXX
Application No.: F000XXXXXX
Quote these numbers when corresponding with our office.

This is an automated message. Please DO NOT RESPOND to this message.

Dear XXXXX,

This confirms that your application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on (date) on behalf of the following member(s):

XXXXX"

The Sponsorship Approval email will have this subject line: "Citizenship and Immigration Canada - CPCM - Communication to client / Citoyenneté et Immigration Canada - CTDM - Communication auprès de la clientèle".
The text will be like this:

"XXXXXX,

Please find attached a letter related to your application to sponsor under the family class. Please fully read the attachment. This letter will not be re-issued. Please save this message for your records.

Do not reply to this email. You will not receive a response."

And the letter attached to the SA email will say:

"Dear XXXXX:

This refers to the Application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class you submitted to this office on

behalf of XXXXXX and family (if applicable).

You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent

Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing.
....."

The SA gives also information on the visa office your file was sent to, how to contact them, etc. It also says: "If you received this communication via email, please note that another copy will not be mailed to you."

Keep in mind though, that it is very possible for the SA letter to be sent to you by regular mail, even though you have provided an email address. We had several cases of this in our December thread. We have no understanding as why this happened, but it just goes to show that CIC is not always consistent.

I think I am one of those cases. I received AOR email on Jan. 31 but haven't received SA email. However, my sponsorship application status is just changed to decision made today, and the details are
1. We received your application to sponsor xxxxx on December 31, 2013.
2. We sent you a letter on February 3, 2014 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

So I think I will not receive SA by email and I still don't know if it is SA until receiving the letter.

Good luck to all of us

Is the sponsor living in Canada? If so, then it is very possible that the SA will come by regular mail. You might want to try to look into your junk folder too, maybe the email is there. But since ECAS says they made a decision on Feb 3, then most likely they sent out a letter to you. If you don't hear from them by the end of next week, you can try to call CIC and ask about your situation.

What you can also try is this:
Log in to ECAS with the file number provided in the AOR (the one that starts with F000) and with the details of the sponsored person. If you see an entry there, then most likely the decision on the sponsor is positive.

Yes it is the AOR. I will update your line on the spreadsheet. Congratulations!
By the way, I'm happy to see that our case is the same. I'm also from Montreal and sponsoring my wife from the Philippines. So we should have the same pathway, but you're advance on me. :D

Thanks Avadava.
I tried the way you suggest, and I can find my permanent residence application details on ECAS and is as below.
1. We received your application for permanent residence on December 31, 2013.
2. Medical results have been received.

So I think I can be more positive for the coming letter. ;)

Yes this is normal ECAS for the applicant. I have the same, and my sponsor was approved back in January. I think you will get good news in the letter. Like I said, sometimes they decide to send SA by regular mail, I don't know why, but it usually happens only if the sponsor resides in Canada.

Good luck with everything :)
