So apparently we got a decision made on the 22nd, and they sent a letter with the decision. I checked our application and we had the email address there.

Just some reassurance is needed for me, this should be ok, right?
Sponsor has been employed at the same company for 5 years and has no criminal record or bankruptcy. And of the proof wasn't enough they would have asked for it right?

From what I've read that is good news, and means your sponsor has been approved. Not sure why they'd send you a letter but it seems like they've been doing that even if there's an email listed, recently.

I'm posting on here because I applied in early Feb so I keep checking out your thread to see when I should be expecting my AOR!

And now that I have written on your thread, I will be notified when someone else posts after me. YAY! It will make me less obsessive (hopefully).

Speaking of which, any way to UNFOLLOW a thread I posted on? I'm getting updates on threads I don't need to be getting anymore.

Wow... since Feb 3rd and it hasn't arrived. Mine hasn't arrived yet.

Update: I called the CIC call centre(Tel: 1-888-242-2100) and was told I am approved as sponsor and application sent to Dakar, Senegal. So SA = Feb 12th. Woot!!! Now the waiting begins.

My sponsor's status on ECAS also says CIC sent us a letter on Feb 3, and guess what we still haven't received the letter yet. However, I received an email from the visa office on Feb 19 said that they received my application so I suppose my spouse's sponsorship is approved.

Welcome to the January 2014 thread. I don't know if this will work, as I've just done it myself to see:

At top right hand corner, you will see some tabs: 'home', 'assessment',...., 'profile', 'inbox', etc. Click 'profile'. At left hand side of page, click 'notifications and email':
1. uncheck 'Receive forum announcements and important notifications by email.'
2. check 'Receive reply notification only for the first unread reply.' - this is what I've just done and will see if it works. I'm thinking(hoping) this notifies you the first time only and no more afterwards.
3. uncheck 'Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic.'

'For topics and boards I've requested notification on, notify me of: select 'nothing at all'.

See if it works.

Congrats, SenoritaBella! Glad the call centre was able to help you out! I was really hoping to get my AOR today, but nothing so far.. I'm still so nervous that they're going to send my app back to me

I didn't get AOR today either. I was really hoping today would be the day.

I put my email on everything so figured they would send it that way. Apparently they like updating on Tuesdays so I am hoping tomorrow will be the day.

It's been a month today since you applied, they would have returned it already if something was missing. Did you make a copy of your application you can look over to see if anything was missed? It might give you some peace of mind. Give it till end of week, if nothing on ecas contact the call centre.

I am going to order my GCMS notes just to see what goes on with the sponsor side of things and if any comments by visa officer(s).

We have the medical scheduled for Thursday and the fingerprints/FBI background check is in process but is taking so long we sent it without it. We just put a note in for both saying we will send them when requested - although we will for sure send both once we have a case #. I'm hoping that you're right!!

Fingerprints - won't be a problem for sure.
Medicals - not too sure, but considering it's something that is usually requested for other types of applications, it probably won't be a big deal. Normally, I would recommend mailing the form the doctor will give you as evidence of having done medicals but where they want the original, it's a risk to mail it without a file #. Do you have a client ID #?

Our application was sent initially without a copy of our marriage certificate. When we found out, our lawyer sent another package within a week and I'm guessing it got there just fine since we have sponsor approval.
