That would be awesome, they approve me the same day they started processing my application - sounds too good to be true.

"We sent you a letter on January 24, 2013 about the decision on your application." might refer to an email with UCI number

We got out acknowledgement and approval emails the same day. In fact very close together.

Hello all.
Today I received an email from CPC-M for my approval to sponsor my wife (Step #1) and now our file is transferred to her home country's visa office.

I applied on Jan. 10 and got the approval for Step#1 today (Feb. 1) - Total 22 days ... Even when the processing time online said 55 days.

Two days earlier (Jan. 30) I had received an email from CPC-M saying they have confirmed that our application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class has been received by CIC.

These guys are quicker than I thought .... now hopefully their counterparts at CHC are the same :D

QUESTIONS:
1) How long in your experience will it take to transfer our file to the Visa office?

2) Will I receive any notification from the Visa office that they have received my file?

Any information/help would be greatly appreciated! Thxs.

Hi there kingkhan787,

In my circumstance I received an email from CIC in London explaining that:

Your application is in process or waiting to be reviewed by an immigration officer. It has arrived within our London office. No further action is required by you at this time.

Our office will contact the applicant when a decision has been made or if further information is required. Immigration decisions and information requests are sent by post or email to the addresses provided in the application.

This seems like a generic reply, but it was good to know it was received. I guess it all depends by application. There ends up being an element of *trust* with these things and giving into the process that it is being dealt with.

All the best with it mate!

David

Congrats! You're updated!

Hi everyone...

From your experience, do you know if the CIC normally calls employers for sponsor verification? It's just that my supervisor/employer has been extremely busy lately (working on a very big project) that it's very difficult to reach him by phone (he's constantly attending meetings). The last thing I want is for the CIC to call my employer, only to find out he doesn't answer the phone...! :-X

(Note: I am the sponsor)

Congrats on completing the first stage :) That was quick!

Dear Amikety,
would you be so kind to change the city name onto my row to Kyiv. (not Kiev) and to add our destination Montreal(QC) .
I would appreciate very much your help.

As for our immigration process. no news from the Visa office so far. I guess it'll take a few months still!!

Hiya everyone. I have a question, I hope you could give me advice. My sponsor gave his two week notice a few days ago. He has a job offer at another place, but he hasn't started with the new company yet. When should he call CIC to notify them of the job change? When he officially starts work, starts training, or as soon as he signs a contract? Thaaaaanks

We got AOR today! Hehehehe. 8)

No, I don't believe CIC calls under normal circumstances. They have your Option C and your employer letter.

Unless you listed your employer as "Pimp Bob" and your job title as "Head Madame." Then CIC might be curious? :P

Personally, I would call the Call Centre and ask. As long as he's working, I don't think it matters much.

Or he can get his contract and a new employer letter and forward it to the VO with a little note.
