Generally, yes, they are processed in order. Not exact order, but general order. (My guess is they mass ship applications and they aren't arranged in order when sent to Ottawa from Mississauga. Plus some IOs work faster than others.) However, they rarely finish in order as each file is unique and has it's own needs.

If in order there are 3 on the spreadsheet skipped if that is the case... myself and two others. O.o; Here's praying Monday I get a PPR email!

Hi all,

We've got some progress in our application.
We got an email from Kyiv on June 27th asking for additional documents. Acknowledging they received our application.
They gave us 30 days to send

proof of funds available for settling in Canada;

any documents related to the employment prospects;

arrangements for the apartment rent, etc.

We sent the documents lasts Thursday and we are now waiting

Passport? no so far all we got was this email :

June 27, 2013
File: XXXXXXXX

Dear Ms.XXXXXXX,

We are writing to you with regard to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

In order to continue processing of your application we require the following information:

proof of funds available for settling in Canada;

any documents related to the employment prospects;

arrangements for the apartment rent, etc.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL DOCUMENTS NOT IN ENGLISH OR FRENCH, INCLUDING A PERSONAL WRITTEN SUBMISSION MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A TRANSLATION.

You are requested to write to this office at your earliest convenience with information regarding the above-marked items. If you do not contact us within thirty (30) days from the date of this letter, we will make our decision on the information that we currently possess.

Thank you for your cooperation, and for your interest in Canada.

Sincerely yours,

We thought it was weird because there are no financial restrictions for the family class... but we sent them anyways our documents. I tried to contact the visa office but they did not answer and all I got as an answer was : if your file is in the processing time, we will answer you by email.- And obviously no email reply so we decided to send the everything we could to answer what they wanted to know..

I think Ottawa is starting to request financial arrangement proof for all applicants. I think it's a good idea for all applicants in all classes. It can help them become aware of the expenses required to survive and make sure we don't have a new immigrant sleeping on a park bench in nasty weather.

Hello everyone.

I am waiting for my PPR and hubby and I just purchased tickets to take a trip together in August 8th abroad.
I forgot to consider I'll need my passport for the trip but in the other hand I have no idea (as everybody else) when the PPR will happen.
Can anyone tell me what is the usual term/time the visa office give you to provide passport when they request it?
Thank you so much.

Ottawa gave me 2 months to respond to their request.

You always have the option to email them and inform them you are traveling as well.

Although, I've heard in a few cases, if you send the PP in and need it back, the VO will rush your COPR to you. Wouldn't that be nice? :D

Thanks Amikety.

Yes it would be very nice! But I would not count on it... ;D

The story I heard was so sweet. A lady from Chile applied. She was pregnant and informed her VO (she was already far into the process) and they printed her COPR the next day so she could have her baby in Canada with her husband.

Too bad there aren't more IOs like that in the world.

Indeed! Very sweet.

ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

My hubby and I are going CRAZY!

Ordered the case notes exactly a month ago as of yesterday... was expecting to get them today but nope! Also... hoping and wishing to get PPR sometime soon!!!! If not.. the actual COPR just showing up in the mail! Wouldn't that be amazing? Bleh. OK I know there are worse off people with way more frustrating timelines then mine... Just hope ours doesn't fall into that category.

Wishing everyone a smooth, surprisingly easy process. Keep breathing and know that one day.. * ONE DAY!!!* we will all be with the people we love most. For good.. not just for the weekend. Isn't that exciting????

Love!
