Re: Proof

Just after my husband sent our application package, I suddenly remembered all the little odds and ends I could have included in our application. So many, "I could have written this," "I could have added that," and "I forgot to say this and put in that." The first few days were horrible. I didn't have a relationship essay, just wrote a three page development of relationship answer. Most of our proof is Skype and communication archives and more than a hundred photos. You could almost see the "evolution" of our faces from cute university freshmen to a mature, married couple (I'm still cute btw lol just kidding :)

I felt exactly the same as you did. Paranoia was indeed present in the first couple of days. Good thing I came across this forum and felt like I have a big support group, where people are in the same boat as I am.

Re: your Skype photos, I had the same situation too, we had Skype snapshots for each month from 2010-2013 and you could see the evolution of our faces.

Hello hello Iay! I'm just a worry wart by nature, lol. I worry over the smallest of issues that shouldn't be issues at all I've seen people post that their answers were only short or they sent just a few photos or what not, and they were approved.

Wah, no progress on the Jan spreadsheet yet. CIC probably called a snow day huh? Heard Sauga had a bit of snow, like most of ON. Me and my husband were the ones left behind for those packages CIC received on 24 Jan Hope we get an update soon

Anyway, I think as long as you provide everything that's on the document checklist and you provide "quality" proofs for your relationship, it will be all good. Some people have had organized their application better but it doesn't mean it will get approved sooner than others who did a it a bit less organized.

Anyway, I wish for the best on your application too. Hoping for a speedy approval.

My parents as well! I kept on updating them with the tracking info on my package, when I sent it out to my husband. They're more chill than I am but they were just as excited to find out that my package was in Anchorage and elsewhere

no - normally that's the wording they use once they have made a decision on the sponsorship part, and if you have a "normal case" ( no welfare, no criminal background, and you are sponsoring a person that qualifies as well) then it should be a positive one - the "in process" might be a glitch !

So, since I still haven't received an approval I decided to give them a call and ask what "We sent you a letter on January 24, 2013 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us." refers to.

The guy told me it refers to an AOR e-mail I received on the 25 Jan and that I should not expect an approval in the regular mail since I provided them an e-mail address.
Dunno how reliable all this is?

Check your spam/junk mail folder and make sure you add all mail from ".gc.ca" to your safe sender list!

Just a Q about the medical.
My husband had his medical done last August 2012, 2 months before our wedding. He had the medical earlier to make sure that he is perfectly healthy and will have more time for medication if he has any problems. The results went perfect. However, when he had his medical done, he had to tick the answer common law partner instead of spouse because we weren't married yet at that time. We were not even common-laws because we haven't been together for 1 straight year, but there was no other options to choose from.

The doctor said, medical results are more important aspect of it, but do you think it might affect our application? Anyone with the same situation?

I'm sure CIC sees things like this all the time. If you get a VO being a prick, they might raise a stink but it seems most of the time, they ignore things like this.

oh i see. I just really hope it will not be a big deal. I'm pretty sure my husband will get remedical done anyway because his medical will expire in August 2013, unless we get lucky and get a visa before that.
