Hi Kdc1965,

The most important news that you already have is :

1) The sponsorship is approved and
2) file is sent to Beijing

Do not worry about what the letter says about the 8.5 months or the website's 5.5 months processing times. This is only an approximate timelines and there are many variables for each and every application.

The online information displayed in the system is a "joke" and do not rely on it for any reason and for the most part it simply displays the same information , while in reality the application may have moved a few steps forward.
The waiting time is unbelievably tough and mind boggling - I know because I went through this the last 6 months. As for the interview , english test ( I dont think it applies for spousal sponsorship) and waiting time, try not to worry too much because it is not within your control.

If you ask me , you are getting very close for the PR/Visa approval. Hang in there and just focus on your good relationship with your wife - it will work out for sure !!!

All the best to you both O

Thanks, for your support, I hope we see some changes soon, my wife is so worried. she sees on the Chinese BBS site people are approved who filed later than us, and she cannot understand why we have to wait while others are processed a month before us. I am sure you are right time is on our side, just in case I am checking out air Canada for another quick trip.
Update just got an email from immigration... Interview on September 20! Is there anything I should know, would they try to mess you up, or is the interview just polite Q/A? Are there sample questions anywhere?

Thanks everyone!! :) :)

I really hope it's almost ppr soon!

But wait, will American citizens get a ppr??

amoss! congrats! yeah, american citizen will still get PPR, instructions on how to get the COPR etc. Mine came in an email.

Thanks! I guess it usually takes a few weeks for them to return the passport then? (just for ticket booking info)

We sent a prepaid waybill and they got it Monday and returned it Friday. But I remember an American waiting a couple months for theirs so maybe you shouldnt book your flight until you get the COPR.

Hi everyone,

My wife just received her PPR :D

With the e-mail they attached two photocopied documents. One is a list of the documents they need. They are requesting the passport, a prepaid airway bill and also medicals for my wife.

The medicals were done last December though. We sent the receipt for them along with the application. So why are they requesting them? Is this just preparing for the possibility that the application will not be complete by December, in which case we would need to have them renewed? Is there some other explanation for this? Is it possible that the medical examiner failed to send the documents to Guatemala?

The second attachment was regarding the medicals specifically. It was basically the same as in the application guide, explaining where to go, what to bring etc. I'm a little confused as to why they are asking for this, but if we need to re-do the meds, we definitely want to make sure that we do that before sending in the passport.

My application is through the Guatemala office, but I figured I'd post my questions here as well in case anyone could help me.

Thanks for your help!

congrats on approval

Our VO is New Delhi, My husband forgot to write that his UK visitor visa was refused in 2007, (Background Declaration Schedule A) Point 6.

But he wrote that his canada tourist visa was refused before marriage as he wants to give me surprise before marriage and also ticked in the point 6(d) YES. Should he resend the form also mentioning about his UK tourist Visa Refusal, because also he has stamp in the passport about UK.

He travelled many countries for business also travelled UK too, but just missed to write about this Uk refusal he had once.

Is this misrepresentation ? or can he resend new form also mentioning about UK and send to Canada or Delhi will they accept it !

still application is in canada(missi) for sponsor approval , file no. is not generated.

Anyone who can pls advise this is serious.

You can post in one forum like sponsorship and a senior will answer you :)

:o I can hardly believe it.. I really didn't expect this so soon. I am still stunned...My husband got the e-mail today!!! The request for PPR e-mail!!!!!! :o :o ;D ;D ;D ;D

So in process August 2nd, and PPR on August 8th!! We have 20 days to get his passport to them in LA.

by the way, the e-mail only offers instructions for mailing the passport from within the States or Canada, but we are in Taiwan. Does that mean that instructions for Canada basically apply to us? As in, we don't send the return envelop like the instructions for within the States said?

Oh definitely send a prepaid waybill so you get that passport back fast! Congrats on your PPR, I knew it would be fast! This shows that your file is in process long before ecas SAYS in process!
