so person I had an interview with isn't legally allowed to write a letter for me stating my success in the first stage of the hiring process.

SO, regarding our need to prove our intent to reside in Canada, I will send the LA VO the following:

a letter from the company requesting the telephone interview (that I already completed), my own personal letter with the details of what I plan to do when I first arrive (where I will stay and what jobs I intend to apply for) and my husband's intent to join within (hopefully) 3 months, copy of my one-way plane ticket (that I already purchased), a letter from my mom saying that I will stay with her while I look for a place, a letter from my husband's sister saying that if he is not approved by October that he will stay with her in Chicago for the rest of the wait, lastly: a letter from my husband with the details of his intent and his staying here (Taiwan) longer to tie up loose ends and to continue to way his visa approval.

What do you guys think?

that sounds very good :) but i would go deeper ;) the letter from ur mom and sister-in-law it's better to be notarized
the telephone interview request and any job search log u have (even if it's without interviews) it's good intent; i would show the whole log urs and ur husband's (if he has) so they can see since when u started to search, how often u do it, etc (of course if u did it since some time)
now my million dollar questions ;) if u do plan to leave have u canceled ur visa in Taiwan, let ur work know, u can get letter from the work that u did (anything related to closure with the current country would b good), let ur landlord know etc....; if not u did ur husband? i know it's a little too drastic since u don't have the visa in hand yet but october is really close, just 3 months away; anyway, if u didn't do any of that u can say it's too early (maybe it needs just a month to quit a job there and to cancel ur work permit) but u will do it when the visa is ready; like this if they really still have concerns they can ask u to cancel those when they r ready to issue the visa and u'll know clearly the process is over :) (that's how applicants and the vo from here do it); not sure if there works in the same way but maybe it gave u some new ideas :)
what abt things in Ca? u don't have anything anymore at all? like credit card, loan, bank accounts, car, ....

good luck!! :)

I do have bank accounts and credit cards still, but I have been using them this whole time abroad, so I don't know if I proved I had them it would necessarily help though... Unless I am not realizing something?

Some more good news, my wife finally got her passport request:

Timeline:

VO New Delhi:

CPC-M App Submitted: Jan 17th
Approved and Transffered: Mar 27th
E-Cas change to "In Process": Jun 7th
Passport Request: Jun 22nd (dated, arrived Jun 28th)

My wifes application was kind of different becasue we didnt get the PPR in the initial phase but got it now, towards the end or completion. Why that is, I have no idea.

me too i have that and like u the bank account i don't use it, the credit card i do from time to time; from my own opinion based on my own observations and talking to ppl from revenu qc and ca all this means that u still have ties to canada and both u or me, we r seen as non-residents temporarily residing abroad with intentions to return; if they see like that why not the cic officers; if it shows u didn't cut the ties it means u didn't for the reason that u always thought of going back; plus u r in a country with no ties except ur husband, somehow u need to make them see that too, if they didn't already
so yeah me i showed everything, even membership cards, how i still receive newsletters there (from univ and others); also i still have my address there (my parents' one) so if u also get things at ur mom's address show them a few samples :) one last thing: if u frequently go back to visit (like every year) mention it too somewhere, it could also mean closeness to the family there, them knowing ur situation, etc
no need of all this, at some point u will feel when it's enough :)
u welcome and good luck!!

it's better to have the lists in advance otherwise they will ask u to make them there; if nothing at all will follow u, then no need of that
u don't need to mention each and everything, just categories - clothes, books, etc; the jewelry should b described in more detail and put a value (i assume it's gold) u don't want to pay duty for that; same for electronics - the fancy ones or hand made things - carpets, home decoration, those too could have a higher tax value which u don't want to pay
at the end this list is to help u :)

Any applicant applied sponsorship in Jan. and sponsorship approved in April, PR application goes to Buffalo, not transferred to anywhere else, Permanent Residence Application Status is still "Application Received"?

We applied on Jan. 18, and sponsorship approved on April 4, then eCas still shows "Application Received", once I click this link, only shows "We received application for permanent residence on January 17, 2012.". No medical received and no anything else as you guys mentioned. Is that normal?

Thanks.
Hi.
Ours is almost the same.
we applied in jan, missisauga received it jan 18, and i was approved for step one on april 5. than ours was transfered to mexico city.
but since than we have not heard anything and our ecase still says the same as yours

application received, and our mailing address, but nothing more.
so i guess it is similar even if it is transfered to another office.
reading the threads i have a feeling they continue the process before they decide to update the ecase.

good luck! i hope you hear something else soon!! :)
