Hey everyone, just wanted to say my wife got PPR today! App submitted on January 18, Sponsorship approval on May 8, PPR October 30, all 2012.

Today is October 31... 1 year since my wife got her medicals... They asked for additional documents (my son's proof of canadian citizenship and his passport) Just proof, so photocopies... I sent all the things to them and they received them October 22... but still no update to Decision Made On Ecas... I hope my wife wont have to redo her medicals... It could possibly only be days away from being approved with the additional documents! I've heard of some visa offices asking for a request of extension of medicals.. don't know much about how that works... This is all so stressful.... I've asked for an extension of visitor status for my wife... her passport was stamped November 10.. so that's just over 1 week... hopefully this is all done and she gets the extension and I don't have to have her and my son go away again. and anyone know what's up with Amanda.. I don't see any updates on the spreadsheet.. so I don't know what's going on.

Today I went across to America for Shopping with my wife and son.. on the way back into canada the boarder patrol lady asked what my wife's status is, and I told her that her status is a visitor and that our file is in Process in Vienna as we speak... She filled out some paper and later I seen it was a paper for me to go into the office with my wife for a possible passport stamp extension... When we were in there, the lady asked for proof of me sponsoring my wife, a marriage certificate, etc... All i had was a copy of my email stating that I was approved for Sponsorship and the email where Vienna was asking for additional documents... She said that I put myself myself in a situation where my wife might be denied entry into Canada... WOW! The lady said that she would be a few more minutes and that we can have a seat... She later asked if I applied for a visa extension.. I told her yes and what day my app was sent to Vegreville AB... She she ended up giving my wife an extension in her passport, enough time for us to probably hear something from the visitor extension app... SO anyone who goes across the boarder, should have things such as a copy of their application that was sent to CIC, and marriage certificate etc... because then it looks like you're just jumping to US and back to keep getting extensions and you risk not being allowed back into Canada! She said that if i had those papers... she could have done the extension that i sent away for, right then and there... Who knew.. I had no idea that I would be doing something like that today.. All i went across the boarder was for clothes for my son.. Lesson learned.. I hope this saves anyone else from trouble one day (writing this)... Wishing you all the best of luck!!

When did you submit the extension application? I submitted my wife's the beginning of September was told they won't get to it until the end of December lol. So I am in a similar boat as you... Hopefully everything works out for you soon! And yes, I think that spreadsheet is sliiiiiiiightly outdated! ;D. Not many people left in here!

Fedex delivered it October 22nd... but when I see how long it takes to process... they probably wont be around to mine till near the end of January! since Christmas and new years holidays count into it.. that's extra time.. I'm truly hoping that Vienna finishes my wifes case and that I don't need to redu the Meds! I hear that the PR thing is valid until the meds expire (1 year).. other places I see that they can request a medical extension.. I think until 15 months, and then all should be fine. I probably can't do meds until they ask for it.. and that could add extra time to everything... This is very hard... when I see someone else finish with this whole thing.. I am so happy and can't wait for my turn Good luck to all remaining Januarians

i'm still here ankara is faster than amman so u might b done before me and a few others (not that we should compete for the last position )
by the way i think imatra is done (didn't have the chance to congratulate her) but is laleh_d done too?

the good part is by this time next year this thread should for sure be done hoooooooope

Hello to all on this forum,
I was posting on another string but stopped for various reasons. Since I am a January applicant I thought I would join this string.
I have a question maybe someone can answer. I see a lot of posts that say their passports had to be sent away to the visa offices. What is this all about? Is it my passport the person I am sponsoring...my husband. Is it in Canada or in my case Jamaica?
Also, I sent away for my GCMS notes on October 27th but since I have everything linked to email, I just "assumed" I would get them by email. Has anyone received them by email or is it always mail. Is it exactly 30 days or can it come before?
